Last night, Hungary began their process for selecting their entrant at Eurovision 2018, as the first ten potential entrants performed at A Dal’s first heat. The ten acts that performed were:
- Living Room – “Kirakat élet”
- Tamás Vastag – “Ne hagyj reményt”
- Noemo – “Levegőt!”
- Leander Kills – “Nem szól harang”
- Zsolt Süle – “Zöld a május”
- Gabi Knoll – “Nobody to Die For”
- Fourtissimo ft. Markanera – “Kisnyuszi a kalapban”
- Ceasefire X – “Satellites”
- Viktor Király – “Budapest Girl”
- Patikadomb – “Jó szelet”
The lineup included several previous A Dal contestants, including Leander Kills and Tamás Vastag.

The five acts with the highest scores out of 50 advanced to the semifinals, as did one song chosen by a public vote. Leander Kills, Zsolt Süle, Gabi Knoll, Ceasefire X, and Victor Király received the five highest marks and advanced to the next round. Leander Kills and Zsolt Süle tied for the highest score with 44, while Victor Király received 43, Ceasefire X received 41, and Gabi Knoll received 40. Tamás Vastag received the public’s wildcard, completing the slate of qualifiers.
