Semifinal 1 of FdC has concluded in Portugal! Tonight, we heard the first half of the songs, and we have our first four qualifiers for the final two weeks from now! Tonight’s lineup was as follows:
- Ana Cláudia – “Inércia”
- João Campos – “É o que é”
- Soraia Tavares – “O meu sonho”
- Calema – “A dois”
- Conan Osíris – “Telemóveis”
- Ela Limão – “Mais brilhante que mil sóis”
- Filipe Keil – “Hoje”
- Matay – “Perfeito”
From this lineup, we have our first four qualifiers for the Festival da Canção final! “A dois,” “Telemóveis,” “Perfeito,” and “Inércia” will all compete to represent Portugal in two weeks! “Inércia” snuck into the final spot thanks to a jury tiebreak; the song was top 3 with the juries but floundered a bit with the televote. It remains to be seen if she can pick up her televote score come the final.
A question lingered before the show regarding how well viral YouTube favorite Conan Osíris would do with the juries. He’s in the final thanks to a win in the televote, but, as some fans of the song feared, it proved a bit too opaque to top the jury vote, instead coming 4th with the juries.
