Spain will return to a national final to select their song for Eurovision

The Spanish broadcaster has revealed that they will be returning to a National Final for the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest, after an internal selection in 2015 failed to achieve a respectable result, when Edurne performed “Amanecer” in Vienna ending in 21st position.

It has been announced that there will be six acts will be taking to the stage in hope of winning the Spanish ticket to Stockholm, the list will be revealed in the coming days. The date for the national final is yet to be revealed. TVE have said that the acts are professional with diverse styles.

Spain last used a national final in 2014 when Ruth Lorenzo won the right to represent Spain with her song “Dancing in the Rain” which achieved 10th position in the Copenhagen contest with 74 points.
