As was speculated for the past few days, four women will indeed host the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon this May.
Filomena Cautela, Silvia Alberto, Daniela Ruah, and Catarina Furtado will be the first ones to walk the stage in Altice Arena.
Filomena and Silvia already have some Eurovision experience. Filomena was the Green Room presenter in last years Festival da Cancao and also presented the votes of the Portuguese jury in Kyiv.
In addition to hosting various shows on RTP in previous 10 years, Silvia has hosted Festival da Cancao since 2008. She was also RTP’s Eurovision commentator in 2011, 2013, and 2014.
Daniela Ruah was born in the USA but moved back to Portugal when she was five years old. She starred in George Lucas’ Red Tails, but she is most known for her role as Special Agent Kensi Blye in NCIS: Los Angeles. Daniela was also part of the People’s Choice Awards in 2012 and Super Bowl’s Greatest Commercials on CBS in 2016.
Catarina Furtado is a Lisbon native, and she has been working as TV host and actress for several years now. She published her first book in 2015, she won the Woman of the Year Award by GQ magazine in 2013, and in 2016 she won the E! Entertainment Career Award.
