Another episode of the long-running 2017/18 season of HaKokhav HaBa has aired, and we now know the final ten participants for Israel’s selection!
Tonight’s elimination round saw the remaining six acts who did not perform last week take to the stage once more in duels, with the three who did not immediately qualify placed into a second elimination round to sing for survival. The usual judging panel was altered slightly, with Asaf Amdursky sitting out for personal reasons. As a result, the first act selected by the competition for Eurovision – 2015’s Nadav Guedj – took his place.
The first round duels in tonight’s show went as follows;
- Adva Omer (83%) beats Sarit Hativa (53%)
- Netta Barzilai (73%) beats Eden Meiri (56%)
- Chen Aharoni (71%) beats Jonathan Mergui (62%)
Hativa (30%), Meiri (80%) and Mergui (89%) then performed again to survive in the competition, but Sarit Hativa was eliminated with the lowest score.
This means that the final ten participants of HaKokhav HaBa 2018 are;
- Howie Danao
- José Steinberg
- Ravit Batashvili
- Shay & Gilad
- Riki Ben Ari
- Adva Omer
- Netta Barzilai
- Chen Aharoni
- Eden Meiri
- Jonathan Mergui
The next episode of HaKokhav HaBa is set to take place on January 28th at 20:00 CET, where we expect the final line-up to start to take shape!
