bosnia

Perhaps it was too good to be true to have all of our favourite countries in Kiev and alas, it seems to be so. Overnight, the national broadcaster of Bosnia and Herzegovina, BHRT, has confirmed that the Balkan nation will be bowing out of the show in 2017 following increasing financial pressures on the corporation.

Bosnia & Herzegovina’s troubled participation in the contest saw just one entry in the last four years as they returned in Stocmholm. Deen, Dalal, Ana Rucner and Jala’s collaborative effort “Ljubav je” failed to set the scoreboard alight and did not make ths grand final of this year’s contest. The country’s previous performance by MayaSar in 2012 was their last final appearance.

BHRT confirmed that it would pull out from the contest ahead of the October 10th deadline to avoid penalty and thus becomes the first of Stockholm’s nations to confirm their withdrawal from Eurovision 2017. We hope to see a speedy return from Bosnia & Herzegovina soon!
