More than 720,000 Ukrainian people voted to determine who will represent the national jury for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023. The results will only be revealed on May 13, day of the Grand Final.
Suspilne, the national broadcaster for Eurovision, revealed on Instagram that 724,000 votes have been cast to choose who will represent the Ukrainian national jury for Eurovision 2023. These votes determine the 5 persons who will form the Ukrainian jury in Liverpool and vote in the Grand Final.
Here’s the list of the candidates for the Ukrainian jury for Eurovision 2023, which includes 4 participants of previous editions of Vidbir:
- ROXOLANA (Vidbir 2022, finalist)
- Olena Hrebenyuk (opera singer)
- Mykhailo Klymenko (singer, composer and producer)
- Amador Lopez (singer and choreographer)
- Tonya Matvienko (Vidbir 2016)
- Oleksandr “Fozzy” Sydorenko (singer, frontman of TNMK)
- Oleh Sobchuk (frontman of SKAI, Vidbir 2017)
- Svitlana Tarabarova (Vidbir 2016)
- Evgeny Khmara (composer and pianist)
- Olena Shoptenko (dancer and choreographer)
The voting closed on April 5 but the results won’t be publicly revealed until May 13, day of the Grand Final. Indeed, the persons voting for the jury of each country will remain a secret until we know who wins the Eurovision Song Contest to avoid any influence and insure impartiality.
As a reminder, the jury represents 50% of the votes in the Grand Final but won’t get to decide which countries qualify from both semi-finals this year, as a new rule has been introduced, unless there’s a technical issue, or any issue, with the televote in the semi-finals.

People for Ukraine will vote in the second Semi-Final at Eurovision 2023 and TVORCHI, Ukraine’s representative this year, will directly perform in the Grand Final with the song Heart of Steel, as Ukraine won last year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Turin with Stefania by Kalush Orchestra.
