Junior Eurovision 2024 Madrid

RTVE, the Spanish broadcaster, has just announced that the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024 will take place in Madrid on Saturday 16 November. The competing artists will perform in the Caja Mágica.

The Spanish capital, Madrid, has been chose as the host city for Junior Eurovision 2024. The 22nd edition of the contest will take place in Caja Mágica on Saturday 16 November, in almost six months from now.

Despite France’s win in Junior Eurovision 2023 with Zoé Clauzure’s song “Cœur”, the EBU and France Télévisions decided to hand the organisation to RTVE and, therefore, to Spain for this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

France won the contest three times in four years and hosted it twice, in Paris in 2021 and in Nice in 2023, so the winning country decided to take a break, partly because it will also host the Olympic and Paralympic Games 2024 in Paris.

Songs submission open on 14 May

Last year, Sandra Valero came second with her song “Loviu” and RTVE accepted the invitation to host the contest.

5 cities had expressed their desire to host the contest — Barcelona, Malaga, Valencia, Granada and Madrid — but the country’s capital has been chose to host it.

Caja Mágica will be the venue to host the competing artists, the media and mostly the fans from all around the World. The venue is mostly used as a tennis court and has a capacity of 12.400 people.

This year’s Junior Eurovision will be even more important for Spain since it will celebrate the 20th anniversary of María Isabel’s victory with “Antes Muerta Que Sencilla” in 2004.
