Last Sunday, 21 of the acts participating in Eurovision 2022, as well as 6 special guests, took to the stage in London in what was the biggest pre-party of the season yet.
During April, most Eurovision acts go on a small tour of Europe to promote their song and attend so-called ‘pre-parties’, where they perform their song live, talk to press and interact with fans. After the Barcelona Eurovision Pre-Party at the end of March, it was London’s turn last weekend, and more than half of the acts competing in Eurovision this year took to the stage at the iconic Hard Rock Hotel. After two years of London Eurovision Party being cancelled due to COVID-19, a crowd of almost 500 British (and international) fans were able to enjoy an exclusive and intimate evening with this year’s representatives. The show was hosted by long-running host Paddy O’Connell and United Kingdom 2018 representative SuRie.
Some of the acts that performed included Sheldon Riley, who travelled all the way from Australia to London, France’s Alvan and Ahez, the United Kingdom’s very own Sam Rider and fan favourite Cornelia Jakobs. Highlights were a Latvian stage dive (I definitely didn’t get injured during it!), the entire crowd partying with Subwoolfer to Give That Wolf A Banana and Spain’s Chanel performing her iconic dance break on the Hard Rock stage.

London Eurovision Party also hosted a number of special guests, including last year’s United Kingdom representative James Newman, 2021 fan favourites The Roop and Victoria, and MESC runner-up Aidan. Eurovision 2019 televote winners Keiino also performed several of their songs, and even hosted a warm-up concert with Ireland’s Brooke and Australia’s Sheldon Riley the day before for die-hard fans.
After the show, fans were able to enjoy an after-party with Eurovision songs and some of the artists even partied the night away with them. Below, you can find some pictures we took during the weekend:

Four more pre-parties are taking place this year:
- Israel Calling is taking place in Tel Aviv from 5 to 8 April.
- Eurovision in Concert is taking place in Amsterdam on the 9th of April.
- Pre-Party ES is taking place in Madrid on the 15th and 16th of April.
- The Adriatic Pre-Party will be hosted online on the 23rd of April.
Team escYOUnited will of course keep you updated on these pre-parties as they happen, with our team set to be at this weekend’s show in Amsterdam – so stay tuned!
