Tonight, Romania will kick off with their semi-final. 15 acts will compete against each other and only 10 will make to the final which is scheduled for Sunday 5th March. D-Lema has spoken to us about their entry “Adventure”

Hello D-Lema

First of all thank you for your time talking to us. How are you ? Can you introduce yourselves ? What can you tell us about yourself?

Hello dear friends ☺
Very pleased to find that our song was well received by the public and jury.

We are not only five members of a band. We are 5 members of a family, D-lema. We know the problems, we laugh at the same jokes and we often travel on vacations together.

Denisa Demian- lead vocal.

Alex Iordanescu – guitar, backing vocals.

Adrian Nastac – violin, backing vocals.

Samy Purdel – bass.

Alex Sturzu – percussions.

Denisa describes the band and we will start with herself.

Denisa – If I got a penny for every meeting that I’m late for….. The spoiled kid of the band.

Alex Iordanescu – The Joker. He talks a lot! Do you think I exaggerate? My mentor. Very emotional.

Samy Purdel – The Brain, constantly lacking sleep, loves pizza.

Alex Sturzu – Mr. ‘Professor. A big salsa lover. Not of the sauce, but of the dance☺ . A sensitive person though.

Adrian Nastac – The Zen one. He is so calm that he can drive you crazy, also very lovable. Basically my man, does not leave home without hairspray, an iron and hairdryer. ☺

Your song that you will be presenting for the national final in Romania is “Adventure” . What can you tell us about the song?

The message is simple, namely that we leave home and travel to another place to live our dream. We become somebody else. Life should be seen as an adventure, not just as a journey full of trials. “Adventure” was born with a smile and the desire to have a song that represents us.

Smile and dream, it’s for free!

What was the inspiration for the song, and did you write it specifically for the national final in Romania and Eurovision?

“Adventure” is close to what we feel. “Borders are in our minds”- this is line of the song – to urge a free, clear thinking; an invitation to embrace freedom in all of its forms. This song comes at the right time –it’s about what happens in the world today. We hope people vote for us in order to identify with the message we want to convey. The lyrics and music of the song belong to Denisa Demian and Alex Luft, initially a band member, now our composer.

What is your impression of the Eurovision Song Contest in general? Do you watch it every year? What is your favourite entry?

All the winning songs had something unforgettable – whether it’s the light show, the folk themes, the sensational voices, or even the extravagant appearances. And here it is very difficult to make a list. Eurovision has no classical patterns of composition or performance.

Apart from the Eurovision Song Contest , where would you dream to do a performance?

We love to travel and we love the stage. So…the love for music can take us anywhere ☺

Has being on tv made you more self-conscious?

Yes it did. We are growing and we are always open to new experiences. Eurovision national selection was a challenge for us. And guess what? We love the challenge!

What ís the best bit of advice you have ever been given?

For better or worse, stay together!

What’s your biggest fear?

We only fear ourselves ☺

Where would we find you on a typical Sunday Afternoon?

In the studio or at some private event.

What is a typical day like for you?

We all have normal lives, normal things to take care of such as family, friends and some of us even jobs, but we all find time to get together and work towards our common dream, our band and music.
