It's not gonna last though....cos this is most probably as good as Taiwan is ever gonna get.....

I am glad that TAIWAN has officially returned to FSC.
Thank you @aardvark for the invitation, let me join this big family.
Through FSC, I found many good songs from various countries.
Taiwanese singers play an important role in Mandarin/Chinese music in Asia.
I browsed the songs recommended by the former member and found that our music tastes are different.
I hope this return will bring you guys a different and more diverse list of Taiwanese music.

For FSC #147 May 2021,
I specially selected a Taiwanese pop song that was very popular recently.
It is different from the previous Mandarin/Chinese songs.
In Taiwan, besides Mandarin/Chinese singers, there are still many singers singing in Taiwanese.
Taiwanese is one of the important native languages in Taiwan, but sadly, this language is also beginning to be endangered.
I hope this song can bring you different aspects of TAIWAN.

About ABAO (阿爆) & Kinakaian (母親的舌頭) ​

Over her fifteen year career, the multi-talented Taiwanese singer-songwriter ABAO has earned a reputation for being one of Taiwan’s most important cultural ambassadors; crossing boundaries to create a shared sense of pride and appreciation for the country’s Indigenous cultures, especially that of her native Paiwan Indigenous group. She has achieved this not just through the sheer charisma and personality which she exudes, but also by combining traditional stories with innovative soundscapes, allowing Indigenous culture to be brought into the contemporary world whilst not losing its uniqueness.

Inspired by her mother who told her that she had to improve her Paiwan language skills, "Kinakaian" which translates as mother tongue, is an album aimed at bringing down the linguistic barriers that separate us, singing in Paiwan, Amis, Taiwanese, Mandarin and English to educate about Taiwan’s Indigenous cultures.

ABAO takes her role as cultural ambassador seriously, and uses many tracks on the record as learning moments to deepen the listeners’ understanding of Paiwan culture. "Kinakaian", a house-inspired dance track where ABAO’s ethereal vocals praise the beauty of her mother-tongue as the song gradually builds up momentum over its five minutes before cascading into violins for its conclusion.

"Kinakaian" is a culturally pioneering record. It’s a musical embodiment of Taiwan’s diversity and a celebration of Indigenous peoples and their rich, varied cultures. Most importantly it molds and merges their languages and traditions with the sounds, styles and topics of contemporary music; showing that Indigenous culture isn’t just a traditional treasure, but one that has a place firmly in the center of contemporary Taiwanese culture. About TRASH BAND (TRASH樂團)

TRASH is a well-known Taiwanese Band, founded in 2009 from the members "Marz23" Lin Zhi-Rong (Vocal/Guitar), Euan Lin (Guitar), TTeng (Bass) and Kuei Gun (Drums) under Warner Music Taiwan. As an underground band TRASH released in 2012 the first self-titled album. In the same year they won the competition at the Gongliao Hohaiyan Rock Festival in Taipei, Taiwan. The following years were filled with touring in Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong and South Korea.

Inspired by their Brit-pop and grunge idols, they called themselves ‘TRASH’ to convey how their creativity is a hodgepodge of unlikely objects of inspiration. Their special brand of grunge rock comes with equal measures of clarity and feeling as well as a hint of homage to the sound of the Nineties.
