The running order for the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest Semi Finals in Malmo, Sweden has been announced. Unlike in previous years, the producer’s decided on who performs when. The reason for the decision was to make every song stand out and won’t be surrounded by entries in a similar style. The final draft had to be approved by the EBU. This is what they came up with:
Semifinal one
- Austria
- Estonia
- Slovenia
- Croatia
- Denmark
- Russia
- Ukraine
- The Netherlands
- Montenegro
- Lithuania
- Belarus
- Moldova
- Ireland
- Cyprus
- Belgium
- Serbia
Semifinal two
- Latvia
- San Marino
- F.Y.R. Macedonia
- Azerbaijan
- Finland
- Malta
- Bulgaria
- Iceland
- Greece
- Israel
- Armenia
- Hungary
- Norway
- Albania
- Georgia
- Switzerland
- Romania

Semi 1 is a nailbiter, the stronger entries are in the upper half, the weaker entries have the better draw….
Semi 2 is the horrible semi, I don’t think I bother watching it all

Rajo:
I feel the exact opposite of you! I’m like Semi 1 whatever. But Semi 2 I’m gonna love! 😀
Can’t wait to hear your thoughts of both (if you do end up watching Semi2) come May!

In Semi 2 I root for Iceland and Norway;
Malta, Georgia and Finland don’t hurt. But the rest may please stay away from me 😀

Rajo, I was thinking of you when I saw the draw. Austria has a great draw going first with that song. Good luck, hope to see you in Malmo

Matt, I’m thinking of you twice a day 😀
Well, spot #1 is not the worst one tbh, maybe the best given the side of the board. And we did poor last year with a great draw, so I am the last to complain here.
Shine is the perfect opener, like Here We Go in Semi 2 😉
Nevertheless the best songs of that first semi come first, and the poor songs late, so I am expecting painful surprises.

Only twice a day? That’s disappointing, I was hoping it was more than that.
I agree that Shine is a perfect opener and it also think it’s going to receive good amount of support, especially from the juries.

I hope the Austrain entry starts eith the singer coming into the stage in dark with a tourch in her hand and start shining. That should leave a lasting impression.

Semi final 2 with GEORGIA and SWITZERLAND at the end are great, my 1st and 4th ranked entries side by side

Interesting that semi final 2 starts eith LATVIA, HERE WE GO, the correct title for the show to start with! Hopefully it will bring them luck.

Inspite of Semi 2 being weaker, it has the better mix. In Semi 1 there is not a single song I like in the second half (starting positions 9-16). That doesn’t mean I like every song in the upper half, but it is far more enjoyable. With Denmark, Holland and Ukraine three major favourites, and with Austria. Estonia and Russia decent entries. (I guess Russia will score better given being Russia). Croatia is also my guilty pleasure here.
