Belarus will decide their song and artist for Eurovision 2015 on 26th December, it has been revealed.
15 artists will compete to represent the Eastern European nation in Vienna next May, with applications for artists closing today (21st November 2014). A professional jury will choose which artists will go forward to the live televised final on the 26th – Boxing Day for many Europeans.
It was previously suggested that Alexander Rybak, the record-holder for highest score in Eurovision history and 2009’s winner, would help out his birth country with the selection, although there is no mention of his involvement by the national broadcaster. Whether he is still involved remains to be seen.
Belarus selected Teo to represent them in 2014, who qualified for the final and finished 16th with “Cheesecake”. Belarus’ best performance came in 2007 when Dima Koldun finished 6th on their first participation in the Eurovision grand final.
