Next up in our Liverpool interview series, we get wild, we feel young and we catch up with Wild Youth who’s ready to bring Ireland back into the finals! We find the boys chilling at their hotel lounge, where they were more than happy to speak to us.

As per usual with bands, we have a chance to get to know each member a bit better, as they share their views of each other with the rest of us, and this interview is not much different from that.

But we also get into the more serious aspects, such as the staging inspiration, the colors used, the process of rewritten the song slightly, how the entire process is and just in general who this entire journey has been for the band.

Ireland made their debut all the way back in 1965 and they certainly have left a huge mark on the contest, with their record 7 wins, which even includes a 3 in a row back in the 90’s. However, Ireland has been missing their luck lately, since 2014 they have only qualified once to the final, which was back in 2018, so soon we shall see if Wild Youth can turn things just a bit around.

Who is Wild Youth

The band consists of the 4 members, being David Whelan, Conor O’Donohoe, Ed Porter and Callum McAdam. The band was formed back in 2016, in Dublin, by all four members. David and Conor knew each other since childhood, in which they created covers together. It was when Ed and Callum joined that Wild Youth was truly born.

The band been on tour and even been warming up for additional big names in the music industry. They usually write their own material as well, and released their first proper mini-album in 2019, titled “The Last Goodbye“.

They earned the right to represent Ireland, when they won a specially televised version of The Late Late Show, in which they competed against 5 other songs, where they came out on top of the scoreboard, which has now brought the lads to Liverpool.

How do #YOU feel about the members from Wild Youth and do #YOU think they can be Ireland’s lucky shot this year?
