With just one week to the biggest night in Swedish TV Music, it is time to find out our final qualifiers. The Melodifestivalen Semi-Final is this weekend.

The Semi-Final is a rebrand of the old Andra Chansen and sees 8 acts fight for the last 4 spots. This change happened in time for 2022 but more has changed this year.

Back in November, before National Final chaos started, we reported on these changes to the semi-final, but here’s a reminder;

It is now ‘Alla mot Alla’ or everyone against each other in English now. We will see all 8 acts compete in a pre-decided running order for the last 4 spaces.

This is a change from last year where there were still 4 spaces but split between mini finals of 4 within the semi-final. And an even further change from the old duel system used in the old Andra Chansen used up until 2020.

This year, 8 acts are vying for the final four spots. They will compete in this order;

1. THEOZ – “Mer av dig”

2. Mariette – “One Day”

3. Victor Crone – “Diamonds”

4. Tennessee Tears – “Now I Know”

5. Elov & Beny – “Raggen går”

6. Melanie Wehbe – “For The Show”

7. Nordman – “Släpp alla sorger”

8. Kiana – “Where Did You Go”

The semi-final will use 100% televote as with the rest of the heats. The top 4 will progress to next week’s final in Stockholm.

The final sees the return of our previous qualifiers with the running order likely to be drawn just after the semi-final.

Unlike the heats and semi-final, the final will have 50% international jury vote as well as the televote.
