Melodifestivalen 2024 Final is now over. As expected, the winner is Marcus & Martinus "Unforgettable" with a landslide 177 points. In fact, Marcus & Martinus also won the jury vote by a landslide with 85 points, and the public vote with 92 points. At least that shows consistency between the international juries, the Swedish public and overall.
The reprise performance had a totally different background to earlier, and unlike the proper performance earlier, the stage was well lit. Anyway, "Unforgettable" is a lively, catchy song. The question is, how will it score at the Eurovision Song Contest in May? As this year's host country, Sweden is guaranteed a place in the Grand Final, and therefore doesn't have to worry about qualifying from one of the semi-finals. Time will tell whether or not the juries and public in other countries will want to vote for this. From tonight's performance, I think "Unforgettable" is an OK host entry for ESC 2024, it might finish on the left hand side of the scoreboard, but realistically I don't think this can win. Good luck to Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 Grand Final in May.
Well done to the other 11 artists no matter where on the scoreboard they placed tonight. All did well to get to tongiht's Melodifestivalen 2024 Final after competing in the earlier rounds of Melodifestivalen 2024 (which I didn't watch).
