Only the Olympic Games. Euro 2016 was broadcasted by two private channels (PRO TV and Dolce Sport). Apparently for sports that's just fine, but EBU threw a fit when Pro TV offered to take TVR's place in 2016.

Ok, so the link won’t open on my cellphone, but I've found something. Ovi and Paula Seling (ROM 2010 & 2014) are organizing a songwritter camp in Romania and the biggest aim is to write songs for ESC:

Well the Government agreed to help TVR to pay the debt so most probably they'll work it out very soon (or it was already resolved, dunno).

Why should they feel the moral need to select Ovidiu internally? In the history of ESC there have been quite a lot of singers who were supposed to compete in ESC some year but they couldn't go after all, for the most different reasons, and they were never internally selected afterwards in the successive years... Dani, Tony Marshall, Geraldine Olivier, Liana and Sérgio Borges, Aline Lahoud, Duett, Vasyl Lazarovych and many others... only Tina Reynolds, Corinna May and Alyona Lanskaya managed to have a second chance to participate... so why should Ovidiu be different? And besides, TVR has already confirmed that they will hold their usual NF.
