I'm going on vacation, to celebrate the student's holiday I'm going to Ribarica, which is a village in the Balkan mountain. OMG! I finally found a ballad, even with guitars, that I like and is elegible for FSC!! I'll send it maybe in April, but most probably in June, but when I do, memorize it, because it'll be the first and the last song from this type from me

Krista debuted on Bulgaria's musical scene in 2008 with her massive hit - Tova, koeto iskash (That, which you want), just after she finishes the National Music Academy, Pop and Jazz singing section, with excellent grades. A few months before that she wins a contest for vocal artists in February, competing with 180 finalists. "Tova, koeto iskash" quickly gains admiration from both musical critics and audience, but not only in Bulgaria. MTV shows her video 6 times on World Chart Express, beginning with 2nd place in their top 10 chart. The song also brings her a nomination from BG Radio in the category "Best debut for 2008" (not a very challenging one, since they don't include chalga singers in these nominations). Krista also wins the special Debut Award from the contest "Golden spring", organized by BNR (Bulgarian National Radio). "Imam" (I have) is the new single by Krista. Authors are B.O.Y.A.N. and Magga (Yes, the same, who did Desi's song from FSC December). Right now Krista is working on her first solo album, which will be released in the beginning of 2010. Musical producer is B.O.Y.A.N, and special names from the bulgarian non-chalga music scene, which also have a part in it are Magga, Lubo (the ex-lead vocal of "Te"), Beloslava (you might see her in OSC, although she's relatively young, LOL), Mariq Ilieva and others.

I wanted to keep the 4 experimental songs (rock, retro, jazz and ballad) together in a sequence, but that way I won't be able to send that marvelous chalga song, so she'll have to interrupt the sequence. After that I'll either keep experimenting or continue to send great chalga songs It depends on what 2010 has to offer me and what 94 sends

94 and I had a schedule for all the songs until November back in June
They come to be in two ways:
1. I hear a song and I immediately love it and still love it after listening to it 50 times in 3 weeks. Then I decide I really should send it
2. I decide that we're concentrating too much on chalga and I should present songs from different genres, browse through the new ones and find examples that I like. For example I really really dislike ballads, so when I hear one that I like, I really have to send it, because when will be the next time that I like a ballad?!? Same goes with rock, jazz, retro, rap, r&b and basically all other styles apart from chalga or dance

Time for out monthly FSC news buletin A tradition Bulgarian topic almost started in December, but now it'll be full and complete. Embrace yourselves, it's a long one, since this one covers everything that our artists have done after their FSC Songs, except the mentioned artists in my post on page 3.
Last month you saw that Andrea (from June) has been working hard, but now there's even more proof of that. First she announced, that Sahara will be making a cooperative project with a big performer from outside the Balkans and the rumours hint to... Bob Sinclair. Not my first choice, but if it helps the trio (which is I think now just a duo, because the rapper left, but it's a rumour too) get famous, I don't mind Meanwhile, here's Andrea's new video - ? ??? ?? ????? ??? (? ???? ???????) To Be with You Again (And So On)

Again we see soft porn, foreign star immitation and cigarettes advertisement, but at least it shows that it's not such a cheap video, noone is shown smoking and Merilin's money could be helping the singer's career. And not a bad music to this song
Andrea is not the only hard working one though. Last month we forgot to give credit to Deep Zone's contribution to the bulgarian and world music scene. After producing Addicted To You (May entry) the group divided itself for a mo, to allow each of the members to work on a solo project.
- Dian Solo featured Mescalex to make an environmental friendly video, named One More Time. The environmental topic comes from an idea of mine, but how it got to Deep Zone is a long story, and I was supposed to be there to help and clarify my idea (I wouldn't have let them make such a crappy video). Another interesting thing about the video - it features Dian's nephews - the two dancing babies.
- Joanna Dark made a song of her own ??????? ?? ?????? (Kiss for Goodbye), which was followed by a club remix and english version + en remix I Can't Breathe (remix)
- DJ Rossko found more work for MikeFresh, when they made together - I Remember
- Juratone, Dian's father, teamed up with Lady B and took his chances on ESC NF with Chance to Love You, and even remixed it for the NF, but it finished 10th out of 12. I voted for them, I thought their song was best
- They also produced a video and song aiming at bringing young people to vote in the government elections, under the name R.E.D (obviously supporting the red party BSP (Bulgarian Socialistic Party), to which they also sing on concerts of their election campaigns around the country. RED Energy DJs - ?? ?? ????? (It's your turn). That video is the mother of that red YES button in the solo project vids as well.
- After they tried each other separately Deep Zone brought themselves in the studio again to make an attempt on a summer hit - ?????? ????? (bg version) / The Summer's Here (en version)
- Among their work were also a few remixes of other artists, Nora's ESC entry for instance, which was terrible in the original, but great in the remix. Greeks also thought so, since they stole it for a MAD show If only Nora could have gone to the NF with the remix, get selected and go to ESC instead
- Krasi Avramov also got remixed - Illusion (DZP remix) (much much better in my opinion) and Say Goodbye.
- Deep Zone kept experimenting with chalga too, next and so far last on their list was Kali - ?? ?? ???? (You Chase Me) (DZP remix)
The latest news around the band is that they are almost ready with their next album Dance Energy. They asked which of the 7 news songs should be made into a video clip in the bulgarian youtube-version, but among them only 1 made it to youtube - Slave. Deep Zone are probably counting on foreign market sales, since they keep an eagle eye on youtube for their new songs, which are freely shown on vbox, bulgarian youtube. Too bad vbox can only be opened from Bulgaria The explanation - noone in BG would buy their album anyway, so allowing the songs there isn't a problem
RSC will soon know many of DZP's songs and remixes in detail
Speaking of hard working artists, we can't forget Ustata (FSC October) who shocked us in December news with his violent video. Apart from that since October's entry he's also produced 2 more duos, one with Igi Androvski (I have no idea who that is) ????????????? (Goldseeker girl) and one with ESC BGNF 2009 Semifinalist Gergana Dimova - ??????? ?? (You're annoying me)

October's Sofi Marinova also hasn't been sleeping a winter sleep. Her stolen song ????????? (I'm being ill) might be stolen, but at least has a nice video.

Krum from July is also surprising us nicely with a whole new album - his first in the chalga genre - ?? ????, ? ?? (Not someone else, but me). It's pilot song is stolen from Albania. the video of Ne drug, a az, more songs from the album are ?? ??????? (Let's finish (doublesensed word - let's cum could also be the meaning), ????? (Tough) and Stop (best of all in my opinion).

Well, if you don't count some sluts singing in his "Become a chalga star" reality. I don't know if anyone watches it. However, Gymzata from Kuku band (the band in Slavi's show, which are also esential to his album, including the duo with Ruslana) has his own new gimmick song - ???????? (hmm... Car-Repair House is the most accurate translation).
Last, but not least, our first ever FSC representer, April's DesiSlava surprised her fans with a new song on New Year's eve - ???-?????? (The Best). Apart from that, in 2009 she has released her album ???????? ??????? ??, in which there are the unfamiliar for the FSC juries - ballad?? ???????? (I can't withstand), the feministic ?? ???????? ?? ?????? (Don't trust the men) and the duo with Igrata (The game) ?? ?????? (Don't Stop). Desislava also had an international success, achieving a spot on MTV's world chart express with the rock ballad My Pleasure, My Pain.

I'll tell you what happened. A move to a new forum (this one) was planned to be made the 1st November last year. Unfortunately, for still mysterious (or at least too complicted ) reasons, the old one was closed/deleted sometime October. That way, many old users couldn't register because there was no link to this one until some month ago probably, when the link, leading to the forum on esctoday.com was updated. Some threads and information, concerning different parts of the forum have been saved, others - lost. In FSC, private forums for each country have started to be used for 2-3 months (don't know if you had noticed that) to post the songs which are entered there. There are also (new) FSC Mods - Nemanja (ndma - serbia) and me. I was the last one to become such after both Misi (Zei) and Liam retired. Matt takes care of most things actually. Have no idea when you were last paying attention to FSC and what the situation was then.

I would love to properly promote the entry as this is the one I invest the highest hopes for big results in, but I really can't. Kristy Breton and 2nd Floor are totally unknown in Bulgaria and this song wasn't a hit on the TV to attract attention to them for interviews or articles describing them. Infact it's so unknown, that I couldn't find an mp3 of it anywhere (that's why I waited until the last month to send it - I waited for an mp3, but in the end I had to rip it from youtube). But that adds to the charm of the song - so untypical for Bulgaria in style, being sung by totally unknown people.
Obviously these are from the "high class" musicians in our country, having nothing to do with the chalga genre (except for a few seconds in which Kristy shakes her breasts in 2:24, if that can be counted at all), and recreating the atmosphere of an old western night club with diamonds on the microphone and classy retro looks of everyone in it. The saxophone is also a key to the impression of this song and video.
Kristy Breton has a song from 3 years ago named Parlez-Vous Francais, again sung and known only to the few high class music admirers, which probably have something of an underground society and don't care much about fame or commersial success.
