Every person sent 3 songs and thsi was one was picked by Illusion.

FSC August 2009 - ??????? ? ????? ???????? ft. ?????????? ?? ??????????? ??????? - My Love (? ?? ?? ???? ???) (01st/24) - THE WINNER:

FSC July 2010 - ????? ?????? - ????????? ???? (32nd/32):
It was 94ayd's turn and apocalexxnow was leaving the contest, so no permission was needed. Worst result for Bulgaria ever!

2.
This is how much we have given to each country:

pointsgiven.bmp

This is how much each country has given our points in each month:

pointsreceived.bmp

As you can see, our biggest friend is Ukraine - the first both in points given and received tables. Romania and Turkey are also excellent friends for Bulgaria. Belgium hurts our feelings though - we keep giving them points and they still haven't given anything to us. We've also given a lot to Ireland and UK without seeing the same kindness from them. On our side, we've been neglecting USA for too long - they're in our top 20 of voters, while we haven't shed a single point from our hearts for them.

The received/given points quotient is 0,821, which means we've been performing below averagely so far and we could use some good scoring to improve our likability among the other FSC juries.

-------------------

3. Song / Percent of the voters / [ Total ammount of voters ]
DesiSlava - Dva magnita 24% [ 4 ]
Deep Zone ft. Mikefresh - Addicted to You 6% [ 1 ]
Andrea and Costi - Izbiram teb 24% [ 4 ]
Krum - S blizalka v ryka 6% [ 1 ]
Slavi and Ruslana ft The Mystery of Bulgarian Voices - My Love (I ti si kato men) 0% [ 0 ]
Esil Duran - Aktior 0% [ 0 ]
Ustata and Sofi Marinova - Bate Shefe 0% [ 0 ]
Emanuela - Kysam ti nervite 18% [ 3 ]
Dessy Tenekedjieva - Noshtta, v koqto (I Wonder) 12% [ 2 ]
Krista - Imam 6% [ 1 ]
Kristy Breton ft. 2nd Floor - Help Me 6% [ 1 ]

So, noone voted for the song we won with. Maybe it means that it grabs you the first few times you listen to it, but then you forget it easily.
The winners are two - Our April 09 and June 09. Both DesiSlava and Andrea gained 4 supporters. Andrea had some help from the romanian voters, because she was teamed up with Costi here, but Desi has gathered the votes all by herself. Strangely, Desi's results were not at all good, so the song was definitely a grower.
Our second best result in FSC came out 4th here - Emanuela breaks the nerves of 3 voters in total.
Desi Tenekedjieva, another disgraceful result comes in top 5 with 2 voters.

Our April entry - DESISLAVA - ??? ??????? (Two Magnets)

desislava_s.jpg

DESISLAVA is one of the most popular music stars of Bulgaria and always loved by the public. She has an enormous musical talent and a great potential to perform in diverse music styles.

Her career started when she was very young. She won her first award when she was 14 and was already participating in juvenile competitions of folkloric music. Having in mind her autodidactic education, she was complimented for her natural talent and interpretational merit when singing authentic Bulgarian folkloric songs. After she became part of the famous orchestra Radnevo and being its main singer, she attracted the attention of Valkana Stoyanova, a well recognized folkloric singer, who gave her classes for several months and taught her the technique of autochthon singing.

In 1996, when she was 17, Desi achieved her first big award participating in the festival/competition “Valkana Stoianova.” At that event, she won the first place with a unanimous vote although she had to compete along with representatives from the National Academy and the most prestigious folkloric schools.

When she was 18, the biggest recording company in Bulgaria, Payner, proposes a contract to her and in 1998, she gets her first solo album “Nyamam problemi" (“I have no problems”). Its style, popfolk, is the most popular and highly demanded style until nowadays in Bulgaria, and Desislava is the author of 5 of the 11 included themes. The big success comes the following year with her second album. Edited in 1999, “Ezi-Tura” (“Heads-Tales”) includes one of the most emblematic songs of the popfolk “Mazhete vsichko iskat” (“Men want everything”), but it also contains a variety of styles- comprising popfolk, pop, and dance-to be highlighted further in all her music.

In 2007, DesiSlava decides to accept an invitation to participate in the VIP version of The Big Brother in Bulgaria. She quickly becomes the favorite participant for the viewers, who daily admires her talent of musical improvisation and great personality, overcoming the day-to-day situations in the house of the Big Brother. The end creates polemics that appeared by the unexpected second place she was left at, so the disappointed media did not stop debating it a month after the end of the program.

The summer of the same year, she edits the single "Reggaeton i malko chalga" (“Reggaeton and a little chalga”) and joins the national tour of The Comics, an artistic group formed by the 5 most distinguished comic actors, in which besides signing, she also exhibits her sense of humor participating in the sketches. The tour turns out very successful and thousands of viewers have the opportunity of listening in live again Desi’s wonderful interpretations of autochthon folklore. In the fall, the musical channel MAD TV decides to introduce in Bulgaria the famous MAD SECRET CONCERTS which show the most distinguished artists in a new light.

In 2008 DesiSlava wins the TV show with great success in Bulgaria, “Let’s Duet,” while still working on music projects for the market in Bulgaria, the UK and Spain.

Her song for FSC Dva Magnita is her latest pop-folk offer for her fans. She also has a video to it on youtube - [youtube:16htsc20]hlTiAC_7B94[/youtube:16htsc20]

Our May contestant is... DEEP ZONE ft. MikeFresh - Addicted to You

deep_zone_front.jpg

[youtube:1c3us9cp]u8vg2Nb-K6U[/youtube:1c3us9cp]

Deep Zone presented Bulgaria in ESC 2008 with a marvelous dance song called "DJ, Take Me Away". The song reached top world charts long before ESC started, and was also shown on MTV's world chart express under number 2. ESC however didn't aprove of the lack of more text and singing and the great show combination with the awesome rhytm was not enough for the song to reach the finals.

Now Deep Zone take their chance of redemption through their co-project with the American performer Mike Johnson, also known as MikeFresh, and the break-dance formation New Hope, who dance for the video.

http://www.deepzoneproject.com/

They have been around since the mid 90's and they've had their hit songs, which spread beyond Bulgaria, but it was Eurovision that made them world-famous and truly successful.

The hard-working group released their fresh mixture of styles "Addicted to you" in December and since then each member of the group have produced their own music projects, making Deep Zone's fans happy for the first quarter of the year. Watch their videos here: http://www.deepzoneproject.com/videos/3

may I present the contestants for Bulgaria in FSC June 2009! It's... Andrea, Costi and Buppy! (aka Sahara) with their "Izbiram teb (Tyalee)".

andreacosti-400x240.jpg

It's not the first time the bulgarian girl and the romanian boy team up for a hit song. Their first duo was "Samo moi" (only mine) which quickly became a summer hit, and also stayed in the discos for the winter. The song was Costi's and it was the third time he sang it with someone, when he sang it with Andrea. Extremely successful in Bulgaria, the duo made another song together for their cd's, but without a video - "V men" (In me). The song has a provocative text and a marvelous trance sound. Planning to become successful worldwide they teamed up with the rapper Buppy and together formed the trio Sahara, which is how they present themselves outside the balkans (Not to be confused with the bulgarian trio Sahara, which took part in the Bulgarian NF for ESC 2009. Their managers lost a case against Andrea and Costi accusing them for stealing their name). Apparently it also has success in the international stage, because it lead to Andrea signing a contract with Universal music company and she now brings Costi even in her chalga videos made specially for Bulgaria, for example in "Dai mi vsichko" (Give me everything) or the May 2009 song "Men si tyrsil" (It's me you were looking for) in which creation Costi, although mostly behind the curtains, plays an important part.

Andrea (Teodora Andreeva) is from the relatively new generation of singers in the bulgarian pop-folk. She won the title Miss Sofia 2002 when she was only 15 years old and then she became a model for Exground. In 2005 her beauty gets recognised again with the titles Miss Supermodel 2005 and Miss Tourism - Bulgaria. Her first steps in music come with the song "Kato nepoznat" (Like a stranger) from 2006. Her love for the music comes from the family - her grandmother and her great-grandmother were singers, her great-grandfather was a kaval player (kaval is kind of a wooden pipe) and her cousin is Boris Karadimchev, one of Bulgaria's greatest opera singers (much better than Krasimir Avramov for sure).

button-costi.jpg

Costi Ionita, born in 1978, is a widely recognized romanian hit-maker. He studied at Scoala de Muzica si Arta (Music and Art School) from Constanta and after that he attended the Informatics High School but without quitting his musical career studying at "Scoala Populara de Arta" - The Popular Art School. He used to play accordion and he loved the Romanian folklore. Among his hits are "Baila Locca", "Ca la Amsterdam" and another hit song of his with a bulgarian singer, Pepa "Nai-dobriq" (The best).

Here's some info on our July representative!

85a20bb0ea.jpg

[youtube:3jksmc4p]TUxSH_wKu5U[/youtube:3jksmc4p]

Krum Sirakov is not much older than most jury members in FSC. He was born in Sofia on 15th August 1986. He starts his preparation for his music career when he's 7, by entering a music school with the flute as a specialty. In 2004 he sees and advertisement for a casting by MM TV (a music TV, which was somewhat popular back then). He appears on stage for the first time on the 2004 MM Annual Music Awards. His first song is "Tazi nosht (This Night)", which arrangement was written by Deep Zone, and it was presented in May 2005. He gets the MM debut award in 2006. He becomes the face of "Care Bulgaria", an organisation fighting the people traffic. His first album "Ne si igrai s men (Don't play with me)" was released in 2007 with 11 tracks. The producer is Ara Music, which normally produces cheap chalga. Despite that Krum is popular among the pop music fans and is one of the few making music outside the chalga genre. Recently though pop music continues it's demise, turning itself into a subculture and chalga totally rules the market. Krum cannot stay away from the modern tendencies and he makes "S blizalka v ryka (With a lollypop in the hand)", his first chalga song, which is already a hit with less than two months of airplay.
We hope that chalga will prove more successful for Krum, who was never really a big hit singer in Bulgaria.

Krum4.jpg

Among the gossip magazines one can find articles about Krum breaking the heart of the daughter of a TV narrator, Margarita Mihneva. According to the gossip, they were involved, but he was only using her for sex, which broke her heart. Another article says Krum is one of the poorest singers in Bulgaria and cannot afford himself to buy even a car. That doesn't stop him from hitting on chalga singers in late night clubs. Some say he was involved with chalga singer Emanuela, who threw him in a pool at a party. There are far more articles describing Krum as a cheating homosexual bitch though. Some say he slept with Kamen Vodenicharov, MM's owner, to become a singer. According to another gossip article, Miro (probably BG's biggest non-chalga singer right now, although produced by another chalga company) and Krum were sexfriends and regularly had bisexual orgies, but recently broke ties. The two of them had a duet song in which the text might be interpreted as a gay-love song between the two (or it could be that they are both singing to the same girl? doubtful). Another article finds Miro drinking a lot of alcohol mourning for his break-up with Krum. More gossipers say, that the two had a decent gay affair, but Krum cheated on Miro by going to bed with some very rich businessman, which caused Miro to kick him out of their appartment. Krum's video of the FSC song certainly shows some indecent sexuality, so that he likes fun is obvious ;)

Ruslana-Wild-Dances-Album-300x300.jpg
45au0_220x300.jpg

:twisted:

After her sucky 2nd post-ESC album Ruslana finally left politics :cheers and started working on her next album which will be released in the beginning of the next year. She promised that the new album will be different than the previous one. She formed her team finally (during this year she fired a lot of "casual" ppl). Even though her popularity fell a lot mainly because of politics and shitty album, she's out of politics now and she's ready to come back with something new. Last time she collaborated with T-Pain and Missy Elliott, this time it seems that she will record the new album here + she will continue collaborating with Warner, imo.

After her mini-tour in USA and Canada she will perform on the Asia Song Festival in Seoul, S. Korea in September!

PS: she won the festival in Korea ;)

Slavi Trifonov, the more than 2 meters tall giant, was born 1966 in Luchindol, Pleven, Bulgaria. He's been an important part of the bulgarian air ever since the early 90's, when he takes part in the students' comedy show "Ku-ku". While being funny, he and his team make lots of songs and pronounce many political messages, mainly against the current comunistic government. Slavi's songs and political activity at the time play a big part in the organization of MASS protests and the collapse of the government in 1996-97 (I remember it, I was 7 or 8 then and my mother took me to the protests several times, and it was fun :) ). I'd say these years and a few more after that were his best, when he was loved by everyone and everyone was grateful to him for his dose of patriotism and help in the political change. One particular song of his, a very patriotic one, from that time (actually it is probably a folk song from the time of our liberation from turkish slavery, made into a modern one) remains popular even now and is still played during volleyball matches for example. The fact that he sings terribly, doesn't bother anyone, since it's not the singing his songs are important and popular for.
In the late 2000 he starts making "Slavi's show" in which he's the main comedian and this show goes on even today. During its earlier days the show enjoys great popularity and huge ratings, in 2001 he's chosen for "Man of the year", but the show declines slowly throughout the years in both quality and ratings, making it a quite average show currently. However he and his producers make quite a lot of money and take part in many other shows, mostly, if not completely, reality shows.
2005, The first year in which Bulgaria took part in Eurovision, he goes on the NF too with a beautiful ballad with Sofi Marinova. Then, the audience had a whole week to vote for their favourite songs. They are the audience's favourites and have the majority of votes (more than 50% of all votes) untill the last day, when suddenly the group Kafe generate 60 000 votes for them. A huge scandal follows and instead of performing the song on the final night's show, he explains that he withdraws because of corruption in the competition.
In the early 2009 he releases his album "No Mercy" (in which the duet with Ruslana enters). His goal is not only to keep working on music projects, but to use it for another political revolution, like from 12 years ago. There's great political dissatisfaction from the socialistic government and he tries to inspire people to protest like before. The No Mercy message is actually aimed at the politicians. However, after so many years on screen with a show getting shittier and shittier, and unsuccessful chalga albums, he remains totally unheard.
Currently he's making his annual tour around Bulgaria, promoting his new album.
There isn't much gossip about him, although even in his 40's he's an unmarried man. Gay gossip doesn't work around him, perhaps because medias think of him as too masculine to make these believable, or out of respect for his past work. He recently employed a famous chalga singer, Emanuela (who was also teamed up with Krum in other gossip articles) to work with him in his show and they've had many projects together, so the gossip writers search for love between them. Both deny and explain they have a beautiful, but a purely professional relationship. Recently paparazzi have seen him being close to 2 female models, but all in all rumors are scarse.

DSC05936.JPG

In 1951, the father of Bulgarian concert folk music, Philip Koutev, established the Ensemble of the Bulgarian Republic. His goals was to join the rich heritage of his country's solo folk songs with harmonies and arrangements that highlighted their beautiful timbres and irregular rhythms. One year later, the Bulgarian State Radio and Television Female Vocal Choir was founded. Then as now, its members are singers from the rural regions of Bulgaria, each an informal apprentice in the folk songs of her home. The ensemble, now under the direction of conductor Dora Hristova, has refined Koutev's original idea into a fine art. The Choir's imaginatively arranged songs join traditional folk melodies with sophisticated harmonies and compelling rhythms, performed in an exotic six-part vocal style. Repertoire is drawn from arrangements created by Bulgaria's most esteemed composers. They actually get their name after the huge success of their album "Le Mystere Des Voix Bulgares. Volume Two" in 1986. This album makes them world famous. They get a Grammy award for it in 1990, and it enables them to have big concerts throughout the world. In their more than half-century history they have 9 albums and more than 700 concerts on 5 continents. They are also peace ambassadors for the UN. Although theirs is a past glory and they are very rarely at the center of anything, their music and presence is timeless - they are often wanted for backvocals of different songs, one example being the song for Bulgaria in FSC August. Another example being Tiesto's song "Edward Carnby". They are a perfect example of why any people should remember their traditional folklore music and perhaps try to exploit it in the modern days, like Bulgaria has successfully done more than once (ESC 2007 - 5th place).

Here's an example of the choire's music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQEXhDkSCL4

FSC SEPTEMBER - ESIL DURAN - AKTIOR

[youtube:3vsr00ur]bWnmAqT-dl4[/youtube:3vsr00ur]

You say how much it hurts, but give me an empty look.
You passed through my heart - you managed and hurt it!
How could I not see the actor in you saying
Gentle beautiful words - they were lies!

Refrain:
You're lying to yourself now, you're playing a part again.
There is no stage in love or a good audience -
to aplaud you for not having a heart.
I love you, and you didn't see that even once!

You say you were different with me - I don't believe that.
You killed everything in me, even love!
How could I not see until today what an actor you are,
Now I uncovered all the parts in your plays!

Refrain (x3)

file498.jpg

Our September singer was born in 1969 in Haskovo in a turkish family. Her real name is Ismigyul Duran Naim, and her creative nickname Esil Duran means "white rose" in turkish. She's studied jazz and estrada singing in the National Music Academy, after which she performed in many countries, like Jordan, Cyprus, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Norway and UK. Her real success comes in 2001 when she releases her first album "Esil Duran". Payner Music Company finances her second album "Elmaz" in 2004, and another album comes out in 2006, named "Tq" (She). Esil has a son named Haris, whom she gives birth to in 2005. A nice recognition for her talent and career comes in 2008 with the second season of Music Idol, where she's part of the jury together with Liusi from No Angels, the band, that represented Germany in ESC in 2008 and got 12 points from Bulgaria (and only 2 or 3 points from other countries ;) ).

According to the rumor, one of Esil's biggest nightmare is a mishap at the very beginning of her career in Payner. She was on the beach and she just took off the top of her bathing suit, when a whole class of third-graders and their class teacher saw her and went to her. The thirdgraders were very joyful after seeing the singing lady topless and the class teacher asked her to give autographs. The singer was so shocked, that she forgot to put something back on and gave autographs like this for half an hour in front of the shocked eyes of the whole beach :) She has an even earlier nightmare though, which is much more serious. After she graduated the Academy, she managed to make herself a good contract and took off with a band to sing abroad. Her first leave of Bulgaria ended tragically. She was in Nortkap, the most northern point of Norway, where they had a car accident, which she barely survived.
Although she and her husband are of turkish roots, she doesn't want to circumsize her son. He's now just the right age for that and according to the gossip they had big arguments with her husband - he wanted to cut his son on Kyrdjali's central square, like the tradition says. Esil is not so keen on the idea however. She'd rather give a 100 leva to circumsize her son in a clinic, where it's steril and safe, if she agrees to handycap her son at all.

There isn't much gossip around Esil though. She says herself that she's too busy to have a lover or something spicy in her personal life, she hasn't undressed anywhere lately (I wonder what she means by lately), and she also says, that "If being honourable and with high morality is oldfashioned, then she is terribly old fashioned".

Less than a month ago came out her latest song, which is very suitable for Eurovision - "Lele, Qno" (WATCH VIDEO), in which she sings in three languages. Rumour has it, that BNT invited her to make a similar song for the ESC NF, but she turned them down, because she's appalled by the scandals that go with ESC every year.

And there's some info on Bulgaria's choice for October 2009:

Ustata (The Mouth) and Sofi Marinova - Bate shefe

[youtube:1ej2s8df]PCfbFoV4TKA[/youtube:1ej2s8df]

Please watch the video all the time, there are many little funny details in it, which I don't recommend you to miss :) The song was written to mock Vip Brother 2, in which Sofi took part. I've translated the lyrics as much as I could and tried to explain most of them, so that you catch at least part of their sense:

Now kick this one here for me and my DJ...

Ustata: Full house, brothers and cameras.
It's obvious, I'm cool and I collect auras.
I have no place on the vip-seats,
Too many Ninjas - my knees tremble.
Forbidden love* doesn't rust away,
Milko, Ico sends you a kiss**.
Come on, tell me, roommates,
Do they have hearts in Orange County?***

Sofi's refrain: Come on, boss, my man, let's live a pleasant live****.
You, boss, my man, are the greatest.
Songs, dances, oh my god, tutala havariya (something in gipsy language).
Made, made, made in Bulgaria*****!

Sofi, in an extremely dialect language: Blah, this crazy guy - you have a cow - you drink milk******.
It seems we'll live pleasantly here.
Boss, my man, take these shits away,
Or you'll be chased by karakondjuls~.
My circle of life is gipsy,
Say thank you, stop reading me lectures.
And I think this camera is following me,
I have to ask - WHY?

Ustata: There are elections - there's no forgiveness ~~,
Give me Toshko's country ~~~.
And my nickname to Kameliq,
I'd give the whole of it ~~~~.
How much are your soul and body worth
and how favourite is the white color for you?
The two boasting girls~~~~~ make a circus of themselves...
(something ununderstandable)

Refrain

Sofi's son Lorenco in gipsy language and not showing the right amount of fingers while counting: 1, 2, 1, 2, 3 - COME ON!

Refrain

* Forbidden love is a pathetic bulgarian soap opera, one of the very few serials we've ever produced and the only one currently.
** Refers to a moment, when the rapper Ico "the Gambling" and Milko Kalaydjiev, the funny moustached singer with the mega-evergreen-chalga hit "The rocks are falling" (cover from a greek song) have to play a gay scene from Forbidden love for VIP Brother.
*** The VIP Brother contestants played for free and without prizes for them. All money from SMSes went for charity.
**** Very difficult line to translate. Bate is a word gipsies use, when they beg younger men for money on the streets, infact it means bigger brother.
***** Made in Bulgaria would sound this way if a bulgarian, who doesn't know english, reads it the way you'd read it translated in cyrillyc letters.
****** A bulgarian saying, basically teaching that rich people's assets are keeping them rich without any efford from them.
~ Evil Spirits in most our folk tales
~~ song was made before parlamentary elections in Bulgaria, when the society as a whole was extremely unsatisfied and in non-forgiving mood with the last polititians in charge.
~~~ Toshko is Todor Jivkov, a communist leader Bulgaria had. He passed away a few years ago. I don't know much about him, but from what I've heard people saying about him, he was pretty ok for a communist leader.
~~~~ The bulgarian word for nickname ends with the word for dick. Kameliq is a famous chalga singer, definitely not known for moral acts ;) She takes part in the current RSC.
~~~~~ The two boasting girls is the name of several beauty saloons in Sofia. I guess it's in the text, because it sounds funny :)
Ustata (The Mouth) was born in 1977. He starts as a rap singer in 1995, but it doesn't take long for the genre as a whole to lose popularity in Bulgaria and he adapts to the new situation, by making chalga instrumentals to his rap songs. His first purely chalga song is his duo with Azis - Tochno ti (Exactly you), although chalga elements can be recognized in his 2005 Eurovision attempt - Vsichki drehi veche mi prechat (All the clothes now are an obstacle for me). Then comes the highlight of his chalga career, when Sofi joins him for a couple of duos, the first of them being very successful, although cover of a spanish song - Ti si burqta v syrceto mi (You're the storm in my heart). In 2008 they tried to stop their successful duos (which honestly got a little wored-out) and persue solo careers. Although both made some great songs and videos on their own (Ustata - Pustono ludo i mlado, where he plays an astronaut landing on the moon for Bulgaria. It's a reference to our folk song sent in space with Voyager. At the end of the video, when the americans land on the moon, they find Ustata's chainlet in the moonrocks ;) ) they seem to have gotten back together for more duos, FSC October being their latest.
The gipsy perl, Sofiq Marinova Kamenova, was born in 1975. She's the 4th out of 5 children in the family. She starts singing and dancing when she's only 2 years old. When she's 17 she sings on a gipsy festival in Osikovica, which she wins. There she meets the drummer Peter. They spend 8 years in love and she bears a son from him. However they split up and now she's with someone else. Back on the festivals topic - whenever she goes to a festival, she wins it. She says in an interview, that she'd be very disappointed if she ever came up second in a contest. I guess FSC will be a shock for her :)
She begins her real music career with the gipsy orchestra "Super Express", one of their hits being Stari rani (Old wounds). With them she has two albums - "Stari rani" and "Pesni ot syrce (Songs from the heart)". She records lots of solo songs and albums, like "Edinstven moi (My only)" and "Moq syn (My dream)". She makes a few duos with Slavi Trifonov (FSC Winner), with whom she tries herself on Eurovision 2005 with the song "Edinstveni (Only ones)", which ends up second after a huge scandal about Kaffe bying the votes. The SMSes are opened for a whole week and they have a tremendous advantage until the last day, when suddenly at noon Kaffe receive 15000 votes out of nothing and beat them. On the night of the final they do not perform their entry, but instead read a text to the audience, revealing the hoax. Her solo career continues in Sunny Music, one of the big chalga producers, which also created Azis. There she releases 3 albums and meets Ustata. With the above mentioned first duo of theirs they become quite famous and they try themselves for Eurovision again in 2007, but this time together. The song is a russian cover of their previous song "Moi si, dqvole (You're mine, Devil)" - Original song / Eurovision NF performance "Dyavol moi, ya tvoya (My Devil, I'm yours)". This is the first and the last pure chalga BNT allows on ESC NFs. It ends up third in the final ranking, beaten by Elica and Stoyan's Voda and Karizma's Fool for You (Karizma's Miro will represent Bulgaria on ESC 2010), but is the first among the non-BNT-produced songs. After breaking up with Ustata she too has some successful solo songs, like the romanian cover "Ti (You)".
Strangely there isn't much gossip around these two, although they are in the cheap genre. They are great friends, but definitely not lovers. Sofi seems to be quite decent with her love life and Ustata, although having some xtremely slutty music videos 50/50 and 100%(well, maybe 50 is too much, but watch only if you're 16+. And I don't mean penis size), both sounding strangely mathematical, seems to either have no sex life, has an uninteresting for the gossip medias one, or leads it in a personal and secret way without being scandalous.
The only gossip article worth mentioning is titled "Sofka is even stupider than her son". It tells the story of her son being on a quiz in first grade on 24th of May - the national holiday of St. St. Kiril and Methodiy, who invented the bulgarian alphabet. The teacher asked her son Lorenco who had made up the bulgarian letters. He thought and thought and Sofi got nervous. In the end the whole room heard her saying to him "Come on, mama, just say Botev and get over with it!"
???????? - ????? ?? ??????? (I rip your nerves)
You stopped answering the phone,
But I know you love me.
I'll get you back to me again.
I know how to irritate you,
I know how to keep you,
I know and you know it, I know.
Refrain:
You've been ripping my clothes,
Now I'm ripping your nerves.
Tonight I'm going out to hunt,
To find someone new.
Everyone advises you "You're crazy",
Be with her,
and I'll get you back again.
How much I've given you,
You're ungrateful,
But you'll beg me back, you.
Refrain
Her real name is Emiliq Cvetkova, but since the folk nickname Emiliq was already taken, she made hers to be Emanuela. She's relatively new in the chalga singers stelarship, so I couldn't find a biography on her. That's why I'll tell what I know :) She's from a poor family, but she's had rich boyfriends, which bought her silicone for her breasts and a few expensive cars and appartements. Probably with such money she became a chalga singer. Her first song (at least that I know of) is called "Az (I)". It looked like there's just another chalga singer in the catalogue, but soon after the start of her career she performed the megahit - "Da si plashtal (Did you pay)", which was even an original song written for her, something not typical for beginner chalga singers. It became a massive hit and is still played in the disco after an year of airplay. It helped build her image - a manhater, who has had her heart broken by rich men too many times.
A few months ago she teamed up with Slavi Trifonov (see FSC August, which we won ;) ) for his comedy show and even became an actress for his sitcom "Where is... big brother (that untranslatable word bate again!)". For the show she even made a comedy soundtrack - "Katastrofa (Disaster)". It seems her partnership with Slavi was successful, because not only she was often seen with him and there was gossip of them being together (they were actually professional friends) but she also quit her producer's house Ara Music to commit to more engagements with Slavi. There was a scandal (well, scandal, they tried to make it one, but noone cared enough for it to become one) about her breaking the contract, but now they are at good terms and she's still on their TV, getting funds from them and making duos with artists from their catalogue, Krum for instance (See FSC July) - "Emanuela and Krum - Nishto ne znaesh (You don't know anything)" (cover from Albania ;) ). I think "Kysam ti nervite" is her latest hit, although being from 8 months ago. Probably her broken ties with Ara Music prevented her from making any more hit songs (not counting the duo with Krum, since it's not really a hit and it's stolen). Well, there's one, which isn't released yet, but leaked in the internet and is quite popular - "Duhai (Blow)". She's currently deciding whether to make a video to it, or make a new song.
Gossip:
It's quite normal for chalga singers to be in the center of scandalous gossip, however the gossip-spreaders for Emanuela go quite far. They say she was a prostitute before she became a chalga singer. She was a striptease dancer in a famous club in Sofia (they don't say which one), but apart from dancing, she also earned her money with bed skills. Her nickname in the bar was Manuela, also known as "Emi the Virus" and she was often ordered by rich clients.
Probably what allowed normal chalga rumours to go to such length was (apart from another gossip, according to which there's an amateur porn of her having sex with a football player) a blitz interview from a "Signalling yellow" reporter, a show whose narrator is trying really hard to make scandals out of anyone. They annoyed Emanuela with questions from the type "Are you a hooker?" and in the end she laughed and said "Yes, I'm a hooker! It's not shameful" - "How much do they pay you?" - "Much more than they pay YOU! Hahaha! Well, sometimes I'm on promotion, sometimes I pay... It's different :)" Obviously she was kidding, but who knows ;)
In a serious interview however she denies those rumours, saying she never worked in a striptease club and definitely would never sell herself, "this is cheap and terrible" she says. "Well", she keeps going, "to Bill Gates, I'd sell myself, I'd even get married to him!"
Emanuela herself tells a curious story about her failed wedding in a talk show. She and her husband to be (who was from a rich family, they considered theselves aristocratic) were very much in love and arranged a wedding. She was also pregnant with a child from him. However, his mother didn't approve her, she called her a whore and did all she could to prevent her son from getting married to a whore and from a simple family, without any aristocratic roots. The guy however was still in love with her and still went on with preparing the wedding. The mother however didn't give up and made her final move on the wedding day itself - she locked the guy in his room and didn't let him go to the wedding. Emanuela waited for a while, but he never came and the church workers told her to leave, because there was another wedding coming on. Even after that the evil witch prevented her son from taking care of Emanuela. She didn't recognize the child as his and forbade him to pay any kind of money for it - "Let the whore take care of her bastard" she said.
In an interview with her fiancee, however, he said that in the last moment he realized what a whore his fiancee was and decided not to marry her.
Who was right? Who was wrong? Which one of them lied? Did he really see her as a whore, or did his mother wash his brain? All those questions keep feeding gossip articles even today :)
lulz, if you're a stripper = you're a wh*re ))) it's been always like that and it's so common for close-minded people. In fact strip clubs risk a lot when they approve prostitution because it's against the law for those who organize it which means that most likely she wasn't a wh*re, well, but those who want to label her would do it. No matter what she says, press or haters would lay cr-p.
I like her reaction actually. And most important I like her song ;)
Actually, she denies working for a strip club :)
And yes, she's a chalga singer, so they'll lay crap on her no matter what she does :)
I'm having a very hard time deciding Bulgaria's song for December, since I want it to be different than our usual chalga or ethno dance :) Thanks to a good friend I managed to choose 5 out of 14 songs and now I'll try to make 94 help me :)
These are the singers, who'll take part in Bulgaria's selection for December :) (If you know them, please don't comment them, as it's not good revealing any names)
Alright, one of the songs turned out too old to take part in the selection:
Rushi Videnliev - Local Time - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bVfxGSTBzw
It also wasn't innovative enough, I'm seeking a totally shocking song from Bulgaria
And this one I dislike too much to send in clear conscience. 94 also disliked it. I know some of you will like it, that's why I'm posting it here:
Aksiniq - Dve lica - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmbrxyvJSCk
So now I'm choosing between 1, 2 and 5 :)
You said you didn't like it, lol! And besides you rated her third, so you wouldn't send her either, so there's no problem revealing her. I won't reveal any of the others though. I think I'll send the last one, but I'm not sure yet :)
