Ngl I much preferred Loreen’s performance of Euphoria to Tattoo last night and not for nostalgia reasons. It shows it’s a much stronger song when there’s no distraction with the staging. I hope other countries come with a competitive package in Liverpool like the UK and Spain did last year in...
The choreography is basic AF at the pre-parties they could be working on something completely different BTS even if it means she moves less and the dancers move around her. The bigger concern is can she even sing the notes when she’s standing still? The only real jury note is that high note...
I hope her record label will put in the effort to help make it a success and not be cheap with staging. They can’t finish Eurovision and expect the same success for Mae that Sam got if her performance is amateur. Mae is a singer she should be able to sing but so far I’m not really hearing it...
To be honest I don’t think locals care whether the song does well or badly in the charts after the contest. The majority don’t know Mae or the song and tune in for the scoring and base their opinion off that.
The impression I get from a lot of UK locals is there’s a superiority complex anyway...
Mae is a professional singer not an amateur like Pia Maria or Blanka who never performed on stage and weren’t first choice.
Fans repeatedly said Sam wouldn’t be able to sing Space Man. It helped he had a great vocal coach.
I’m not going to catastrophize until we see her more as she won’t be sick and Liverpool will have a much better sound system.
However these pre-parties really separate the truly strong and charismatic performers from the rest. If they are capable they can do it whether there’s technical issues...
I imagine Sam is part of the reason the song had so much exposure this year. Mae had a BBC show and it was added to loads of playlists which has all helped. Unlikely it will peak as high after the contest.
