I'm a bit nervous now cause I'm afraid teenagers bands could leave Helena out. I really hope that's not happening cause Helena is like miles over any of the rest of this weak semifinal. Her song is sooo superior and she's much stronger on the stage.

I don't even care about the rest, though I would like Linus to join Helena in the final and Álvaro to stay out. But I only care for Helena. She MUST qualify.

So please I'd ask Swedish mums and dads. Take your children's mobiles, please! Do us a favour!

We pretty much know YOHIO's fans are going to vote him into the finals so no more about that. The song is.... okay, pretty much what i expected but his show might really make it a great number, especially if he puts more energy into it that last year.

"Survivor" is a bit underwhelming, it's almost the same thing over and over with no dynamics, no change. Also keep in mind veterans, especially female veterans, have done poorly in MF with a few hyped up entries like Charlotte Perrelli and Swedish House Wives not even making the second round of voting, so i'm not too sure about it.

Alvaro Estrella seems destined for success though, and Linus really popular on the web, both strong contenders. I don't really like either but i can see why they're popular, i would prefer Mahan Moin but i won't really mourn if she doesn't make it either.

I think we can all agree Sylvester Schlegel sucks though! My god, it's just every possible thing that could be wrong in a MF entry, the full version is even worse than the snippet! How the hell could this make the cut :?

Ellen Benediktson is lousy too, just the same damn guitar plonking for the whole song, nothing happens at all! zzzzzZZZZ.... and Elisa, no comment, i couldn't even stand listening through it.

In a country where Yohio can be considered an "interesting talent" and where pretty much half of the population watches the show (and the majority of voters are stupid shallow tweeny girls), and considering how Sweden vote in general elections aswell, then YES... I have little faith in the public vote

Though, I must add, that many times I've been frustrated about how the juries voted in MF aswell... so I guess I simply don't trust anyone here

Even if Yohio qualifies (which he most likely will) I'm confident that the juries will prevent him from winning the whole thing ( a la 2013)

@A-lister, I don't really understand why you almost hate Yohio. :? He sings rock and he does it very well. I only know his Heartbreak Hotel and he is able to sing it live unlike most of singers. He has his own style. So why wouldn't he be considered an "insteresting talented"?

YOHIO used to do Visual kei which first and most is fashion if I understand it right. The music and vocals were in line with that genre. This year he does something else which has confused some. Personally I'm slightly amused by the character he shows, but pretty indifferent to the music.

First MF round, for me the official start of the Eurovision season!

So let's see, interesting collection of songs for this first round!

I hope Helena and Alvaro make it through to the final, with Elisa (lolz, think I have found my first guilty pleasure of the year! ) and Linus going through to Andra Chansen.

Probably not what will happen, I'd still be happy with any sort of result as long as Yohio crashes out and Sylvester Schlegel goes nowhere. Fat chance that'll ever happen though *le sigh* :?

Something tells me helena will flop hard. Regardless of the song, it feels somewhat weird to have one country's winner running for another country. And she does look Greek.
I can't really believe the Swedes will feel her as their own.

My song rankings

1. Helena - Easily the best by a landside. The only song that packs a real punch and that's cause of Helena's fantasic vocal. Only one in the in the semi who has "IT." She really needs to go DTF cause I get the feeling ballad/mid-tempo wise she will remain the best (Not expecting anything this brilliant from a Sanna/Kempe union and Janet just doesn't have "IT" )

2. Ellen - Is this 2014s "Snalla Snalla" She doesn't have all those reservations that people have with Caroline. Her voice sounds gorgeous and fits the song perfectly. I love the chorus and hope she can pull off a Marie Lindberg Being really cute and pretty can't hurt her either and she's performing 6th so I hope she doesn't get shoved aside

3. Yohio - The song is so much better then he is and frankly more then he deserves. Andreas really should have kept it for himself. It's 100% Andreas and 0% Yohio feeling. Sounds great on record but will probably be a let down live His clip is also 30 seconds shorter then everyone else's too. Sounds like SVT believed his song would be the most downloaded and he will win the heat so they didn't want people illegally ripping it off the site

4. Linus - It doesn't really have on record the power I felt when watching the clips but it still sounds good. The chorus is good too I will admit however that I can't help but think of the stage gimmick and that does ruin some of my appreciation of the song xshifty

5. Mahan - It sounds very messy and like a mash-up ("Starships/"Gosa") with added ethnic elements but I still like it However instead of having the power vocals with attitude it should Mahan sounds more cutesy and valley girl instead It would probably have ranked higher if a better vocalist like Ruslana was doing it xwhistle This will be a car crash live probably

6. Elisa - Not terrible but it sounds so formulaic Elisa does a competent job but nothing special. I get the feeling she was a second choice after the intended singer rejected it. I actually think Mahan's valley girl-like vocals would have done a better job and raised the song more

7. Sylvester - I reminds me a little of Thomas Di Leva (2012) and something else I can't recall but nowhere as good. I decent but nothing to write home about

8. Alvaro - a complete disaster xhand The chorus is nasty (100% unsexy/ not even dirty in a good way) and his voice (if you can call it that) makes it 100x more cringe It may have been more tolerable with a man who has a more masculine voice and who didn't sound comparable to Conchita Wurst xdoh A female voice with attitude or sexiness (Janet J./Britney) would have been better too The whole thing is just cringe from start to finish and he doesn't sound sexy at all, not one bit xhand I just pray the dress rehearsal vote was wrong and he flops like Melody Club and Eddie Razaz
