Yeah.... that's the problem with this song. This isn't promising for the UK; if one needs several listenings just to make up one's mind - it's a lost case in May I'm afraid...
We've seen it many times before in the Eurovision; songs that are ok or middle of the road get completely lost...

I agree. The song is OK and she is a good singer, but it could get lost. A revamp wouldn't help so much as the melody is very simple... I think only a spectacular staging could help this entry.

She has the voice. She doesn't have a song.

Holly would've been a much better option. As would Salena.

Oh please you're not Albania.

EDIT: And I believe that revamp is good only for initially bad songs. As for the entries that already average the revamp would make them only worse.

Eh, Albania's far from the only country to use revamps. Switzerland, Belarus, Georgia and Malta have one most years, and a quick check shows there are about ten other countries that have all used one in the last few years. I agree that they're not always good, but I do think that a revamp can make a good or average song better, and can also make a bad song worse; it really just depends on who does the rearrangement.

Generally it seems to be an even split, with one third making the entry worse, one third making them better, and one third changing it to be different but about the same overall quality. I'm just hoping this gets one of the good ones.

The only time it would seem sensible to be worried about revamps is if you like the original version. If you don't what would be the problem? You want a song to keep sounding very average?

For myself it sounds an ok power ballad, but not too convinced yet.

I liked the song originally, for me it stood out the most when I first heard it on the radio, and the live performance was strong. It seems any revamp will be relatively minor, likely adding some "omph"/power to the second half of the song. I imagine drums and/or enhanced string. I think that'd be a great move and take a good song and just tweak it enough to be a contender. It seems to be what most are asking for and what they'll do... and seems sensible.

Anyone else thing Salena reminded them of Esma from UK NF 2010?

Not sure if anyone caught this yesterday, but Lucie was on the BBC saying there are plans to revamp/rework the song!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-38796767

It's great to see they actually see all our comments and are taking them into account. I've usually been thinking that they ignore it all and live in blissful ignorance. I am interested to see how they revamp it. Hopefully it doesn't get completely wrecked.

I love it more and more every time I listen to this one, I hope they keep it simple after the revamp because that's what I like about it, maybe more strings in the last chorus or something like that but not too much! This is by far my favourite UK entry since 2009 :D

I just watched the NF performances... Why on earth did Olivia Garcia not win??? xdoh Best song, decent vocals... I mean it seems like the UK is quite bad at making any kind of decision?

Sophie Ellis Baxtor shaded the song and said it was a song that wouldn't be able cross generations and please people - only young people. It was basically the only negative comment of the night. I also happen to be in a room with some other people as they watched, and all of them didn't have a clue what the song was about or what "Freedom Hearts" meant (even if she did say what her song is about in the postcard bit before the song). It was clear to me after all that she wouldn't win the NF. Lucie Jones was trending on twitter in the NF and hers was the only stripped back performance with nothing added.

Someone familiar makes his comeback:

I'm not a fan of Lucie's song (it may grow on me, who knows), but Vasilije has the ability to take any song and completely RUIN it with his terrible voice! And he says he's aiming to participate in a pop music festival in Montenegro?! The organizers should bar him for life from participating!

I don't like it, sorry :x She has an amazing voice, that's outta question, but the song doesn't evoke any emotions in me. Pretty sure she'll get some points from the juries though, kinda like the Czech Republic last year.

I was really hyped by the majestic chorus but really disappointed by the underwhelming verses. Not bad, but I know that Britain can do better.

High quality and strong song. Vokal brilliant.
The best British song of the past 20 years.
I expect high placement.
Bravo for this impressive song.

Maybe the UK might do very well with this, whenever we send someone from the West End (musical theatre) we get a good result, Michael Ball from 1992 came 2nd and Jade in 2009 with the Andrew Lloyd-Webber song came 5th, and this year's entrant Lucie Jones has performed in several West End shows. If we get a top 10 result this year then we may have found the type of singers and songs the UK should send to Eurovision for a good result.
