It's weird how this finished +60p behind the fake italian impersonator of Estonia giving the RO and the number of streams. Still very stable in a year too spread out. And overall, one of their best results outside of the victories so i don't wanna hear any excuses for not sending a song in swedish again.
My theory is that the running order hurt them because it was a very long evening with many noisy/uptempo entries, so by the time Sweden came on viewers had gotten tired?

Yes and it could be a consequence of this new ridiculous politic of opening the voting before a single act performed to which Estonia benefited for standing out earlier in that camp and receiving votes from casuals who just follow the final.

Like i said tho, 3rd is not too shabby. I was expecting +200p but almost everyone underperformed.

I was thinking this, too. As we can vote from the beginning, people preferred to vote Estonia (so maybe #3 is not a dead slot anymore???)

Maybe it´s just me but they also looked rather "tired" during their performance. There just wasn´t that much energy behind it, especially compared to the NF but also to the semi. xthink

Interesting. Normally everyone wants the spot Sweden had...

So, apparently the allegations regarding Sweden not wanting to host again next year were right... that's what it seems. Expecially the jury vote made me raise an eyebrow.

In another thread I already guessed that they didn't win their Semi and well I was right. The audio production lacked punch, it sounded just off. And tbh it's a fun song but it's not really a Cha Cha Cha, so I was always a bit surprised it was pegged as a televote winner.

Maybe a lot of televoters thought Sweden would landslide this anyway so they spreaded their sms on more of their favorites which ultimately hurt the guys.

Are televoters really doing strategical voting sometimes? Like :fi: didn’t vote for :se: in 2023 and now :se: didn’t vote for :at:?!

I always felt that :se: has lost momentum. It wasn’t as charming/ entertaining than at MF anymore. Maybe that was really the case. They also felt a bit tired to me…

That can happen if you have to sing the same song over and over again in a very short time, at some point you get really tired. In the final these smiles didn´t feel sincere to me, unlike in the NF where you could really see that they enjoyed singing that song.

Yeah, I think Kevin especially seemed a little bit sick of it.

This clearly was more of a regional Nordic and Baltic phenomenon unfortunately, not reason to overthink it. Sure the chorus sounded worse than during Mello due to them leaving their backing singer behind, but both Joost and Käärijä show that people don't really care about if it singing or mixing sound perfect if the song is good enough.

This simply didn't have as much universal appeal as we thought, epadunk is much more of a local genre than gabber or Käärijä's/BL's Rammstein pastiches.

True, almost all their high televoting points (more than :8:) came from Northern Europe or the Baltics, the further you go the points get less.

I also guess we shouldn't be surprised that the average European finds Italian stereotypes more funny than Finnish stereotypes :coffee:

Congratulations! I think 4th place overall and 3rd in televote was the best outcome, not having to return to Sweden so soon, but also great enough to celebrate KAJ. The number 195 just sounds low for podium, compared to previous years.

As for the running order, of course they got a great one, but the flow of the show wasn't that good. Too many breaks in between songs, due to big props. It made it less enjoyable. Not only for Sweden, but as a whole as we were reaching the last 10 countries or so.

Congrats on the 4th place, Sweden! Now that the hype wave has passed, I'm actually enjoying this lil' fun song. In the end I was right, I said a few months ago that this one wouldn't be much of a high points magnet outside of the North.

The same stuff applied last year and that did not stop Croatia from scoring 337 from #23. And they had Ukraine go #3 and score even higher than Estonia this year too.

If anything, the muted audience hurt them IMO. Entries like BBB practically live off the energy, and that includes that of the audience. But we will never know ofc

I think even if Sweden had sent Måns he wouldn`t have beaten JJ with the juries (the austrian being much more impressive vocally) but he might have gotten some more votes then KAJ but im not sure how he would have done with the public.
