Tonight saw the BBC’s Eurovision: You Decide take place live from Salford, Manchester, as six acts fought for the United Kingdom’s ticket to Tel Aviv.
The show first saw three ‘song-offs’, as the six acts performed the three songs, before the assembled panel of Marvin Humes, Mollie King and Rylan selected their finalists. The duels were as follows (winning act in bold);
- “Sweet Lies” – Kerrie-Anne vs Anisa
- “Freaks” – Jordan Clarke vs MAID
- “Bigger Than Us” – Holly Tandy vs Michael Rice
After the three duels, Kerrie-Anne, Jordan Clarke and Michael Rice performed once again in a bid to win the selection, with televoting alone deciding the winner. It was then decided by the British public that Michael Rice would fly to Tel Aviv to represent the United Kingdom in Eurovision 2019!
