The glorious day finally arrived! Eurovision 2019 has officially started with the first nine countries rehearsing today in the Expo Tel Aviv. Every day, escYOUnited, your favourite Eurovision site, will be bringing you a roundup of the day’s events to make sure #YOU don’t miss a thing!

🇨🇿 Czech Republic: Lake Malawi – Friend of a friend
🇫🇮 Finland: Darude ft. Sebastian Rejman – Look Away
🇵🇱 Poland: Tulia – Fire of Love (Pali się)
🇸🇮 Slovenia – Zala Kralj & Gašper Šantl – Sebi
🇲🇪 Montenegro: D-Moll – Heaven
🇭🇺 Hungary: Joci Pápai – Az én apám
🇧🇾 Belarus: ZENA – Like it
🇷🇸 Serbia: Nevena Božović – Kruna
The daily ESCXTRA press poll of 35 members of the Eurovision press gave Cyprus their highest score, with strong showings for Serbia, Czech Republic and Hungary as well.
Based on the odds, the only surprise here is Slovenia who are favoured to qualify, but only came 6th with the press based on the first rehearsal. Could this be a sign that their staging could harm their chances? Of course, we must remember that this is only the first rehearsal, so plenty of time for them to change their staging and perhaps they will gain favour as the week goes on.
