In an interview conducted by esckaz with the Montenegrin head of delegation, Sabrija Vulić, the intention to extend the competition was revealed.

Vulić said “My intention next year is to make a big concert,is maybe with 20 songs. Why? This competition is a chance for young musicians to introduce themselves to the public.” This also served as a confirmation that Montenegro would be taking part in Eurovision in 2020.

This year saw Montevizija used for the second year in a row under the current format of five entries competing to represent the Balkan nation in Eurovision. D-moll were selected with “Heaven” and will compete in the first semi-final on Tuesday.
