Italian singer and Eurovision 2020 representative Diodato will finally get his moment to shine on the Eurovision stage in Turin, as the interval act in the first semi-final on 10th May!

The performer won the 2020 edition of Sanremo with “Fai rumore” and was one of the favourites to win the contest when it was cancelled in March of that year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic’s first wave. During Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light, a special show produced by the EBU to replace the contest, the singer performed a now iconic rendition of his entry in the Arena di Verona, with the song becoming a lockdown anthem for the Italians who had been the first population into lockdown.

Now, two years later and with the pandemic (hopefully) largely behind us, the Italian broadcaster RAI has invited the performer to finally take to the Eurovision stage, in a symbol of hope and a sign of things moving towards a more normal near future.
