First night of the Music Awards Ceremony in Belgrade, Serbia, brought on a fantastic show and gathered up the Balkan stars all in one place. Štark Arena (previously Belgrade Arena, where Eurovision 2008 also took place) hosted the grandiose event with an explosion of energy, music, and performances up to par.
The program lasted a little over 3 hours and consisted of a beautiful harmony of the well-known musicians as well as the fresh faces, with special appearances exclusively reserved for the Eurovision-related performers, such as Konstrakta (Serbia 2022) and Joker Out, who are set to represent Slovenia in the upcoming contest.
The prestigious Golden MAC award was delivered to Konstrakta, as well as an award for the international contribution to Serbia’s image worldwide. Wearing an unusual black and white outfit, the artist walked down the red carpet and later in the evening, delivered an incredible performance of a fresher version of In Corpore Sano, the song that catapulted Serbia straight into the Top 5 of the Eurovision song contest last year.
When asked about the potential representatives for Serbia this year, she mentions ”I saw that the names were published, but not the songs, so I can’t say anything until I do listen to them,” Konstrakta said.
As far as Eurovision representatives go, Albina (Croatia 2021) is also nominated at MAC for the best urban pop number, for her song Plači mila (Cry, darling).
