[UPD] #YOU can now hear Kazakhstan’s Junior Eurovision entry above.

It is official. Kazakhstan have now fully joined the fray as a possible contender for the upcoming Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Broadcaster Khabar Agency intend to snag a victory with the dramatic power ballad “Armanyńnan Qalma”. Information about the song is fairly scarce at the time of writing, but the Kazakh entry combines Disney-like undertones with traditional Kazakh musical instruments, providing a song which is bound to stand out in Gliwice-Silesia.

Taking central stage however, is a taxing performance by singer Yerzhan Maxim. The young singer should have the required musical pedigree to compete in a contest as big as Junior Eurovision and carry his song well in a live performance.  He had previously competed in several musical competitions, including the Voice of Russia Kids, where he reached the final and was declared joint-winner with his fellow finalists.

Yerzhan would later take part in last year’s Kazakh National Final. He finished in a respectable second place, losing to Daneliya Tuleshova.  Daneliya would go on to finish in sixth place with her song “Òzińe Sen/ Seize the time”) at Kazakhstan’s debut at Junior Eurovision 2018.
