Tonight Finland has decided who they want to send to Liverpool for the Eurovision Song Contest.

The next of the Nordic national finals rounded of UMK’s selection process. After weeks of hype the tough competition came to a close and gave us our 22nd artist of Eurovision 2023! Turku’s Logomo played host to the steller show where 7 acts competed for the crown. The running order and interval acts were released a week before the show;

  1. Robin Packalen – “Girls Like You“
  2. KUUMMA – “Ylivoimainen”
  3. Käärijä  – “Cha Cha Cha“
  4. Keira – “No Business on the Dancefloor“
  5. Benjamin – “Hoida mut”
  6. Lxandra – “Something to Lose“
  7. Portion Boys – “Samaa taivasta katsotaan”

The Final

This evening saw some steller performances from The Rasmus, Bess and our host Samu Harber. The Rasmus performed their new song ‘Live and Never Die’ from their 10th studio album.

Other entertainment from the night entirely was a look at each artist reviewing each other’s songs

The Results

This years UMK saw a combined 25% international jury and 75% televote result. The international jury was made up of Juries from the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Poland, Australia and Ukraine.

Following the Jury Results we see Käärijä is in the lead with a large run over Lxandra a run-down of the jury votes is above. Then came the all important televote results and Käärijä got the highest votes meaning he came out victorious!

Käärijä will now go on to represent Finland. The Rasmus performed for Finland in Turin last year coming 21st in the final with 38 points.
