-Karol Wojtyla (Pope John Paul II) a great man and a big friend of our nation...I really appreciated him :D ... rest in peace;

-very friendly people;

-a lot of tourists from there in Croatia during the summer months;

-red and white coloured flag;

-very poor country during the communism era but today really successful country in transition and sometimes I envy to them because of it :cool: (but great things they did there)

There live a lot of Polish people in Denmark and generally I have a good impression about the Polish people and Poland as a country. Never been there myself but a lot of Danes tend to go there for short weekend-holidays.

These are some of my associations:

A beautiful capital (and lots of other beautiful cities)
An awesome language
Euro 2012-host
Volleyball
World War II
Racism (I hope I'm wrong about this one :oops: )

Racism... well many people are 'casually' racist, but that's only because the only immigrants/minorities in Poland are Ukrainian. I'm sure that if Polish people were introduced to people from other countries then they would be more careful with what they say. But Poland is changing fast, too, so it'll wipe itself out soon, I think.

Well actually until the 1970s we were rich, we actually were richer than Spain and some other countries. From 1991-2008 Poland's economy grew nearly as fast as China's, and Poland was 5th (I think) in the world by growth rate. However, Croatia's GDP per capita was higher than Poland's before the European recession, but now isn't since Poland didn't go into recession.

So, let's think about Poland this time ;)
Honestly, first things that cross my mind are:
- Nice people, beautiful and interesting cities, but cold weather (I was in Krakow last year in Juny and it was soooo cold) :D
- Religion and Pope
- Funny language; I really like it, although I don't know a lot of words. It's a bit similar to Slovenian, they both are Slavic, but are also very different.
- Sad and bitter history, unfortunatelly :|
- Red colour; I don't know why, actually ... Maybe because some buildings from Poland that I have in mind are red and red is also on the flag :lol:
- Apples - yeah, because of this year's Eurovision appearance :D

That's it -pl
