Ghana submitted their votes; however, when I reviewed the votes, they were incomplete. Ghana voted for only eight entries, skipping two places. Seven hours before the deadline, I sent a private message about the matter to soundofsilence, but the juror never replied. Therefore, Ghana is disqualified and will finish in last place with their points.

Honestly, I thought I would finally win the christmas spin-off after barely missing out twice in the past. I think my entry was clearly the best, most dramatic and emotional entry. Maybe for some of the voters, it wasn't eventually christmassy enough and maybe some were confused to hear the melody of Bocellis' "Vivo per Lei" in a christmas context.
In fact, stealing Italian pop songs and turning it into christmas songs is an quintessential Icelandic tradition. The master of Icelandic christmas music Björgvin Halldorsson who happens to be the dad of Svala has travelled to Italy a lot in the 1980s and fell in love not only with the food but also with the music and with Sanremo festival. He thought that many Italian pop songs of 1980s and 1990s had some dramatic quality attached to it that reminded him of Christmas. So what he did was taking the melodes, texting some Icelandic lyrics about peace, nostalgia and love and adding some bells and here you go... a christmas classic
