I think I can only shadow the sentiment been said. After 2 years of poor singers (Mae can dress it up how she likes on Twitter, but she was bad) the BBC clearly put a huge emphasis on vocals and we got these 3 fantastic girls, who have been so wonderful and a delight to follow. The hate they've personally got has been vile at times but they've made the most and remained positive. However the BBC have then pushed the song to the back burner. I've never connected with that song, and always had issues and actually several interviews have brought up major red flags. The BBC invited a small team of Eurovision songwriters with some success in the far past

, Danish

, they wrote upwards of 20 songs in around a week

, they picked the song title and made the song work around that

, they wanted it to be Eurovision

. I think part of what made Sam's song work was that it wasn't written for Eurovision, it was just a song. Iirc someone who was in the running posted their song online and it was better than this (going on memory so it don't quite remember). Some things have got better in recent years, but it's still the same BBC. France can pull itself our of the gutter to become a Eurovision powerhouse, Switzerland did the same, Germany potentially is on that path, Netherlands same, yet here we are making the same mistakes.
I hate to be so negative and pile on but i think the writing is on the wall here, and i genuinely fear this could double 0. I hope not and I'm just dooming here, but I've pretty much lost faith at this point.
