If Romania decides to withdraw it is only their fault and they cannot blame anybody else: they had a great reception last year and did relatively well. Romania has had poor ratings for a while now and there is not interest it seems. Also, their national broadcaster is not able to find a proper formula. However, I hope they stay because Romania has such a huge music industry. The fact a country with that music market is not able to enter the finals is crazy to me. They have acts to be in top 5-10 every single year.

Yes, they just need someone to structure up the national selection

Everyone from this year + Luxembourg?

I don't think Romania will withdraw. I'm also not confident in North Macedonia and Montenegro returning. Bulgaria still 2 broke 2 compete. Turkey's election might not bring change.

I think it's everyone from this year - Romania and + Luxembourg, Montenegro and North Macedonia. Monaco depends if the broadcaster has enough time to set itself up and settle down. Turkey... yeahhhhhh no. Bulgaria already said that they won't compete/ The other countries not a slight chance of competing.

I have this strange feeling we will lose Romania this year: recent results were not great and I think they get more and more demoralized past years, to the point they don't give a fuck of Eurovision anymore. I'm worried about Latvia and Georgia too: these two countries really tried this year and I hope they are not discouraged by not making it to the final. I don't think any country will actually debut, Australia will stay, Luxembourg and North Macedonia are coming back and I can see some other returnees following Luxembourg comeback (same happened when Italy came back in 2011): Monaco is the first country which I think will follow, if not next year they certainly will in 2025. I can clearly see this happening now. I have more doubts about Andorra, but that is difficult to predict anyway. Turkey participation depends on the elections, so we'll see, Montenegro can easily be in again. Others, I don't see them returning.

Will guess back up to 40 countries, with Luxembourg returning, and possible Monaco, North Macedonia or Montenegro returns.

Is there a chance Bulgaria could come back? I'm deluding myself into thinking yes but I don't want to get my hopes up too much

I've already read a rumour that they aren't coming back for next year but we'll see, nothing really been confirmed yet! So taking with a pinch of salt.

Anyway I'm thinking 38/29 countries for next year! Romania Withdrawal, no Bulgaria, Luxembourg return of course, and maybe Montenegro and North Macedonia back!

I think we will have the same countries as this year + Luxembourg and hopefully Bulgaria*. Maybe Montenegro will return ... they used to skip in the past too only to come back. Sadly their lack of success might be discouraging for them.

ETA
* I've just read that Bulgaria has already confirmed their non-participation next year, this is sad, they used to bring great entries.

First let me object strongly to the name Loreen's Lounge. Just hearing her name now since the jury voting fiasco makes me angry.
That is how I feel.

I want Australia be allowed to stay - why it takes so long to let us know. Are there still many fans that are against us in ESC?

I support LOTL who would like the big 5 to go through qualification. As this could impact revenue of big 5 nations I came up with this idea:
A country that does not qualify for grand-final gets 10% participation fee reduction the following year. Besides find savings in staging it's getting too huge anyway.

On a german podcast they said ESC costs Germany 1.3 million euros (selection process and everything) but a top crime series production of similar lenght and tv ratings costs 1.7 millions. My numbers can be slightly off but in that proportion. Meaning it is a good deal for the public broadcaster.

Didn't they confirm Non-Participation? They were being quite rude about it on twitter

About us, AUSTRALIA. Just went through all the entries and televotes they received. Besides the first invitation when our entry was well explained and recieved the european voters did not give many votes. Pretty sure that is in great part due to our location in the world.

I changed my mind and would prefere now if we are not enter as a competition country. If eurovision wants to showcase our music they could do so as an interval act.

We still can vote as 'Rest of the World'

Australia out!

I hope you're wrong about Georgia but I think you don't need to worry about Latvia. ESC is very big and important for the Baltic countries. And even despite having an absolute abysmal resume the last decade, Latvia also delivered some iconic ESC moments including a win that put Riga and the entire country on the map of Europe. They're really hit or miss but when they have a good song, they're rewarded for it. Given all those recent last places in the semi almost avoiding NQ this year must look like a triumph to them tbh.

Will the Portugal Sweden curse happen once more? Portugal hasn't been at a Swedish eurovision since 1992 lol

Well, we have to be fair enough and say that they couldn´t participate in 2000 due to their bad result the year before.

To answer your question: No, I think we´ll see them in Sweden this time around. :)
