Welcome to another FSC Spin-Off!
Welcome to this FSC December 2017 Spin-Off which will feature many top favourite ballads from
all over the world . Our host city is: Medellín, Colombia , the second-largest city in Colombia in
South America . It is located in the Aburrá Valley, the natural basin of the Medellín River, a central
region of the Andes Mountains (Cordillera de los Andes), & has a population of about 2.5 million.
Once dubbed “ The Most Dangerous City in the World ” by Time Magazine due to the drug-fuelled
violence of Pablo Escobar , in the last 20 years Medellín has undergone a transformation. In add-
ition to big improvements in public safety there has been a huge surge in urban development pro
jects , incl. Colombia’s first Metro system ( the city's pride ) and cable cars to service that region.
Historically, in 1616 the Spanish Francisco Herrera Campuzano erected a small indigenous village
("poblado") known as "Saint Lawrence of Aburrá" (San Lorenzo de Aburrá) , located in the present-
day El Poblado municipality , and site of the city of Medellin . In 1675 , the Spanish Queen consort
Mariana of Austria founded the " Town of Our Lady of Candelaria of Medellín ", at today's city site.
After Colombia won its independence from Spain , Medellín became capital of , the Federal State
of Antioquia & part of the Colombian Republic from 1886 . During the 19th century, Medellín was
a dynamic commercial center , first exporting gold , then producing and exporting coffee . Today
this modern city, is a major tourist destination with a pulsing nightlife , and a vital finance centre.
Medellin is surrounded from above by seven hills , which serve as natural viewpoints of the city &
are sites for healthy leisure , recreation , enjoyment , research , sport , culture, education and eco-
tourism . Popular sights : Plaza Botero , Rafael Uribe Uribe Palace of Culture, Metropolitan Cathe-
dral, Carré Building, museums & galleries. Popular festivals: the Flower Festival & Poetry Festival.

years in the entertainment industry in Colombia, Chamorro Iluminación decided to expand its hor
izons & create a novel alternative in the field of entertainment , Chamorro Entertainment City Hall
in the capital Bogota. After that success they decided to expand , & the result was the City Hall in
Medellin. "The City Hall El Rodeo, is the product of a strategic alliance with Club El Rodeo", stated
its manager . The venue has become very popular for music events/concerts of different kinds in
