Polish diaspora is not comparable, we have literally not even qualified for a final last year, you need to be fr.
I have to be fair, they are not as certain as the Israeli one for sure, but if they are interested in the contest, they are power house. Nobody can tell me, the regular viewer will award those points to Michal Szpak, be real lol.

Austria only in 4th place with just the televoters.

I know that televoting is unfairly biased (diaspora, neighbours, etc.), in some countries more than others. But the huge influence of juries is also annoying. Not sure what the solution could be, but all the time the jury deciding the winner is definintely not a good thing either.

Azerbadjan jury gave Israel 12 points they have been getting some Israeli military support in their past conflict with Armenia perhaps a reason. But it could ofcourse be non political and just a matter of taste.

Regular viewer would absolutely award those points to Michał Szpak and that is exactly what happened.

:nl: coming third in the semi, just 1 point behind Albania and above Sweden, didn't expect that but great, well done Claude!
:ee: coming fifth in the semi and then third overall in the final.. what
:be: coming second to last in the semi, didn't expect it to flop THIS hard (more than half of the points coming from San Marino??)

Yuval recently announced that she has Azerbaijani roots and it was broadly covered in the Aze media, no surprises there

On the bright side: With Finland, Malta flopping and Australia doesnt even q this year, I hope the amount of sex-joke-entries will reduce.

Interesting to note that Armenian jury neither the public gave any point to Israel.

I can’t understand why people can’t accept the diaspora voting. It is part of the game, the way all the Polish names are under every post about your participant, is the way everyone who is abroad is voting for the same one. At least the nation is interested in the contest.

Juries always make some questionable choices and there's (and will be) conversation about scratching them or at least lessening their influence..

But ultimately if it wasn't for them we wouldn't have a contest next year. So there's that.

I find the Ukrainian votes annoying. I think it was a fairly weak song and staging this year yet it still got a huge televote. If it was any other country I fully believe it would have flopped.
