Albania lost so many voters after coming 2nd in the semi :(
I expected Estonia to have won the semi, considering their extraordinary SMS performance in the final. They came 5th in televote-only semi and 2nd in the final. This is a bit strange 😵‍💫😵‍💫

That song? Semi winner? Bitch something is wong
All the people who left Ukraine are voting and the result is obvious. Put all the Polish and Israeli diaspora and you have the “fair” results. Then the jury winner just wins easily.

Yeah ... are Irish people very pro Israel in their ''war with Hamas'' now? I don't want the discussion to turn overly political but I'm curious. I haven't heard about any sizable diaspora in Ireland or other reasons. I mean the song is quite good and not one of those highly alienating ones but I find it strange too.
Ireland is generally quite pro Palestine. The population with Jewish heritage in Ireland is really small. I think the vote to Israel is a backlash to the pro Palestine side

All that excitement...to calm down I'm going to listen to "Ein bisschen Frieden" by Nicole (German ESC winner from 1982). So very nicely old-fashioned and peaceful... hred

Not Celine Dion's Ne partez pas sans moi?

If I were her, I would sue the Swiss TV.

Polish diaspora is not comparable, we have literally not even qualified for a final last year, you need to be fr.

Malta 🇲🇹, Denmark 🇩🇰and Switzerland 🇨🇭 televote results are so sad :( Especially Switzerland I was flabbergasted

I was sad for the Iceland 🇮🇸 boys, but their reaction during the results was so cute, especially considering how others reacted when they had their reveals.

Estonia 🇪🇪 was fun, and better than the semi final performance, but didn't deserve as high as 3rd place.

Italy 🇮🇹, Albania 🇦🇱 and Greece 🇬🇷 were excellent and I'm glad to see them do so well.

First of all, many congrats to the winner from :at: Austria! xup Not among my top favourites but a decent song and good performance.

Secondly, many congrats to :il: Israel for a wonderful 2nd place! It pleases me to see the very good Israeli song and performance embraced by so many people (not the least in often pro-Palestine Norway) in these volatile times.

Thirdly, I am very pleased that the cheap trash entries from :se: Sweden and :fi: Finland did not win as I feared one of them (especially Sweden) would. It gives me some hope for the contest going forwards.

Well done also, Kyle for  Norway. In such fierce competition you made the top 20.

My favourites were :nl: The Netherlands (12th and underrated in my view) and :es: Spain (24th and very underrated in my view) and thirdly :il: Israel (positive surprise result wise).

General reflections: professional show once again. Best host was the new, accomplished and beautiful lady Michelle Hunziker (who gets the 12 points from me). The graphics in this year's ESC were sensational.

Jury voting influenced several scores not the least Switzerland with 0 points from the televote and clearly helped Austria win. Israel for example got a lot more televotes than the winner which again raises the question if jury votes should be so influential in ESC. That being said, had Israel won the contest there would have been no end to the controversy so for everyone's sake it was probably the best that they did not win.

I watched with my family and we all had different favourites so this was an interesting ESC-year. It certainly became much more unpredictable than expected.

Well done Basel for producing a very enjoyable ESC 2025! xup
