I'd forgotten that, thanks. Several Northern Irish acts have represented Ireland in recent years, but it's been an awfully long time since one represented UK I think. Clodagh Rodgers might have been the last.
Lucie Jones is also Welsh! Too bad they haven't sung in Welsh yet.

Any country that surprised you with Q-ing yesterday? For me a minor surprise was Portugal but it was enchanting live & visually easy to look at.

Also one has to acknowledge that this marks the first time I think where most countries qualifying from the semi had songs entirely or mostly not in English. All songs NQing were in English wow, I like the way the contest has evolved in the last few years. Nothing against a quality entry entirely in English though, especially from Australia and UK haha but you know what I mean.

but then there's somehone like Fahree... I read that he blames "politics" for Azerbaijan not making it...
Ehm... hasn't he seen the other performances and hasn't he heard how Mamagama's lead vocalists sang the verses?! The head voice wasn't pleasant, either.

gurl this delulu is killing me... did they watch the other acts?
had azerbaijan made it, it'd have stolen a spot from one of the acts that actually deserved it...
it was just on its own league, in a negative way...
it'd be a tremendous success if they placed higher than 15th place.

It's been a long time since a Welsh or Scottish person represented UK. The last one might be Jessica Garlick (Welsh) in 2002.

I think it would be interesting to see a folk or traditional entry from the UK.

Bonnie Tyler (2013) is also Welsh.

and even more recent, Joe from Joe & Jake (2016) is Welsh and so is Lucie Jones (2017).

After watching the SF1 I especially care about these awesome songs: xclap
xlove

1. :ch:
2. :se:
3. :nl:

There are other decent and likeable songs (:al: :it: :is:) :) but I'm just not completely surrended to them.

As for :pt: I'm always happy when we qualify, I do not deny that. But it still wouldn't have my votes even if I could. We had much better in our NF. It has grown a little bit on me though and they did what the best they could.
Congratulations to NAPA and all the other qualifiers.

Well how about the fact that the audience was completely muted throughout the whole performances?

I still remember how the audience responded to Soldi and in corpore sano clapping parts, some of the epic moments in Eurovision. Expected the same interaction during Zjerm’s clapping part, too.

Just to protect Israel, EBU is sacrificing its core values, the audience…

Guys I have found in Semi-Final 1 - people didn't really cheer on Sweden. But people kept cheering in the Austrian clip.
