This year the voting was such a big mess, like the odds were so all over the place. I think this result might get even more backlash than last year. Does anyone know when they will release the jury results for the semi's

Loreen came second in the televote and first in the juries and got 57 more points than the second placed act - under the rules of the contest that seems like a solid win to me.

We don't have a televote only final - the big 5 wouldn't allow it even if the EBU wanted it back. I can see why Finnish fans are unhappy - but Duncan Lawrence, Mans Zelmerlow and Jamala never won the televote either but they won Eurovision!

Jamala has 11 12 points at GF, Duncan Lawrence has 6 12 points, Mans Zelmerlow has 12 12 points, only QUEEN Loreen has 0 12 points.

I think they would have made it over Serbia and finished 7th to 10th. Serbia was saved by Croatia in their semi. Semi 1 wasn't as packed as it seemed, and had only 15 slots.

Duncan's victory was not bittersweet for me, it was bitterspicy with rage at the robbery of North Macedonia and Norway.

I mean, The Netherlands haven't won since a long, long time ago.

Sweden has won twice in the 2010s.

Looking at the scores from the semis, I think I'm probably in favor of juries in the semi - those scores feel incredibly unbalanced.

Well well well. No surprise there. Just putting out there, I didn't care about the top 2. But if I have to pick, I would rather Sweden win.

However, what matters to me most is that I am so happy for Israel, Italy and Poland!!!
Gutted for Germany and Slovenia, I thought they will do well.

Anyway, looking forward to 2024's contest.

I think people need to accept two things proven in studies (don't know if I'm allowed to link to ESC competitors).

1. For every 4 places from 1st that you are on the order; you gain 1 place or 1%~
2. The jurors have been proven to choose more popular songs in the finals in streams and on YT.
3. The gain between starting 2nd and 26 is 5,5% on average. So. 583-5% - ~553 and 526 + 26=552

So... even with Finland on 22 or 24, and Loreen in 2nd, Loreen would've won. The jury made her win: the thing will always be with a jury; a jury of people and not robots or smth will always choose the more popular song. You saw it in SF1 where some countries gave Sweden 12 points with the lowest rankings of all time, where since 2016 televoting is the tiebreaker. Which already meant now Sweden came 5th in that tiebreaker in SF1. So.... I would solve this by making the running order completely random or winners for SF1 may choose first.

What happened with the top 2 was pretty much what everyone knew was gonna happen for months now, so I honestly don't really care. Finland got a historic televoting score and Sweden got a historic overall victory. Good for both countries.

The rest of the results are way more interesting.

's result just feels right. I expected it to be high with the juries but not second cause it is still a manufactured song (although between Israel and Belgium the scores are pretty close). The televoting placement was expected.

kind of came out of nowhere. I didn't expect them to flop of course but I thought they would be the third best placing big 5 country. Juries voting for it was expected but it also did incredibly well in televoting too.

also got a great result, although I expected her to be a bit higher with the juries. Her semi score on the other hand was unexpectedly low but the differences between 4th and 7th were small.

and being in the top 10 was a huge surprise and actually a positive one. Belgium was a bit more consistent as it did well with both groups. Estonia on the other hand had a much bigger difference, but that's what happens when juries have barely anyone to vote for I guess. Also despite qualifying as 10th it had as much difference from the 11th place as from the 5th place.

I see a few people being upset that won the semi but got a bad running order, though I think this is like Malta in 2021. It got a good result in the semi because of the running order and they most likely would have scored less in another position. Not to mention they were in a semi with barely anything good to vote for.

I'm glad for 's result and they have a lot more reasons to complain about the RO ruining their score, since they did really well in the semi from an okay position and then got to perform after Finland.

There are many complains from some Greeks about not giving 12 and robbing them of a top 10 position, which on one hand, I don't understand since neither we nor Cyprus are obligated to swap votes (not to mention that their problems with the Greek jury stem from something completely different) but on the other, I don't get why they actually didn't give them 12. We have given 12 to way less deserving Cypriot entries and that was a somewhat jury friendly song, so why out of sudden did they decide not only not to give 12 but to give 4?

did as expected. I never bought into the idea that this smashed the televoting in the semi and I was right. In the final the got a respectable televoting score and final result. I wish it was 15th instead of at Austria or Armenia but the differences are really small.

Before the rehearsals, that was the result I expected for but later I though that they might get a low top 10 finish cause their performance looked pretty good.

was quite of a surprise. I hadn't listen to the entire song so from the comments alone, I was convinced that this would do well. But when I heard it in its entirety, well, I wasn't impressed at all. I think the juries could have been a bit more generous with it and didn't expect it to be last in televoting at all.

and despite being completely different I will write about both of them here, cause I'm really happy with their semi results. For the former for all the hate it got and for the later for being a ballad but getting a very respectable 7th place with 97 points. Their final placements are a bit disappointing but it's okay.

The bottom 5 was, I think, what most people expected, although I didn't see Germany coming last.

I hope next year will be better in terms of songs and be more open regarding the winner, cause this is the second year in a row that I haven't bothered to watch the final.

Well the Cyprus contestant was a random Aussie who's had no experience/hits before. I think previous acts have had some hits in Cyprus or Greece etc. And he was singing a random generic Scandi pop dated sounding ballad. I'm not shocked he didn't get 12 points from Cyprus. Did he get anything from Aus I can't remember? Again I doubt it, he is a no name here too.

I just want to say this, but Poland aka Bejba Kween is the TOP SF2 finalist in terms of Grand Final televoting results and she performed at no. 4 in the running order. Let that sink in.
