But the ranking is made by counting jury and viewer votes is it not? So why would jury points make one unworthy?
Look, if the ranking was alphabetical, would that make Albania the rightful winner? I guess so, but it wouldn't make an exciting show.
We all know what the rules are, and it's these rules we're criticising. It's not just about Kaarija, most of us have been strongly against jury vote for years. I'm not saying to redo the whole voting, what's done is done. I'm voicing my displeasure, and hoping that this will change some year. Right now you have majority of Eurovision fans feel bitter after what is supposed to be a night of joy and celebration. That's not right.

Well of course I am happy for second best result of our Eurovision history. But public wanting to Finland win (also 2019 Norway) is big disappoiment.
And Italy 2015 (and I say it as someone who prefers Sweden 2015 but it should be the voice of the public that matters)

Final thoughts. Congratulations to Loreen for a professional performance of a competently-written song.

It's all subjective, I know, but this feels like the first time in a while that we've got the wrong winner. By that, I mean a song that doesn't advance the contest in any way like the previous winners...

2014 - Conchita. No notes necessary
2015 - Måns marries song and staging and takes it all up a level
2016 - Jamala mixes tradition and modern, and beats Russia too
2017 - a beautifully written Portuguese-language ballad
2018 - an in-your-face pro-feminine banger
2019 - a classic bit of balladry with a great hook
2021 - Måneskin. Need I say more?
2022 - Kalush again combine tradition and modern. No English either
2023 - Erm... The cliché of "stuck on me like a tattoo" wheeled out over some standard Swedish pop

Maybe we've just been spoiled lately. But I will finish with this (and it's not an original question): is Tattoo really better than Hold me Closer?

You really are "wtf" about the only two classic ballads of the year? You know, not all the viewers and jurors are uptempo lovers. Sometimes you need some songs like Estonia and Italy too, because an all ballady Eurovision may be boring, but an all uptempo will be too. I'm honestly not surprised they did well, expecially with the Juries, because they stood out in a mix of "in your face" performances.
I think he meant it the other way around. Didn't you, @aef?

This was designed from Melfest to this moment to let Sweden have their desperate 7th win and to host in the anniversary year of ABBA

Man, I was hoping both Loreen and Kaarija would flop somehow so we wouldn't get the inevitable salt from either/both sides for the next 5 weeks. If only Slovenia had won like they truly deserved.

Jk, I'm not really upset about any of tonight's results (other than Slovenia. I know it's a hard flag to get people to vote for, but 21st... man. :()

Poland coming 8th in televote will at least provide me with enough laughs to get me through until next Eurovision. Chick flick villainess queen xqueenbitch

Me too! 1999 was the first infurriating victory that I witnessed. It felt so wrong and the song was also terrible.
Im still viscerally angry at Selma not winning Eurovision 1999 an event that happened when I was three years old, people never calm down

Over a 170 points for this :it: song from the televoters? I’m sorry but you must be kidding me. Usually :it: deserves it but not today. This is the most cliche italo ballad in history.

Nope. Not as a song. As a package yes, as a song Hold me Closer is better.

Oh, I had so many WTF moments, don't know from where to begin

For example, really embarrassing situation, told my gf that Austria's going to get A LOT of points from televote. Yeah...
I was thinking, maybe we can catch up with Estonia in the televote, but I forgot we opened the running
