Re: EURO 2012 - Pots, Draw on February 7th

I'll make a wish first. I would like Macedonia to be in a group of 6 perhaps, though group of 5 will do it.

My ideal group:
Croatia/England/Italy (any of these teams  )
Switzerland
Northern Ireland/Scotland/Bosnia and Herzegovina
MACEDONIA
Liechtenstein/Moldova
Luxembourg/Malta

First of all, it was the worst qualification tournment ever, for Romania, it was like a disaster, ended with the match with Serbia. The last time we lost with 0-5 it was about 30 years ago...so no words to explain our shame  :( . The good part is that we are still in pot 2... :|

I would like a group like that for us:

Croatia/Portugal
ROMANIA
Finland/Norway
Latvia
Liechtenstein
San Marino :D

Re: EURO 2012 - Pots, Draw on February 7th

I never thought it would be likely to happen ever again, but we have qualified succesfully to the World Cup by winning the (probably) hardest group of them all. Now we can benefit by this before the Euro Championsship by having reached the Pot 2.

In my opinion, a preferable and acceptable group would look as follows. Fortunately we cannot draw Sweden again for the 3rd time in a row. Phew  . :

France
DENMARK
Finland
Latvia
Liechtenstein
Faroe Islands (mainly because of the excitement there would be about this match  )

Worst coincidence of a group draw possible would be:

Netherlands
DENMARK
Bosnia and Herzegovina
Hungary (They beat us in Parken. Definitely not a team I'd like to meet again)
Kazakhstan (Mainly because of the distance)
Azerbaijan

And the worst one would be, IMO:

Greece
Austria
Slovenia
Estonia
Whatever

Why did Kazakhstan not opt to play in the AFC, they would have a higher chance of success and qualification for the World Cup?

I don't know, but you are right! They would have had much more chances to advance through the AFC.

The worst combination for us would be:
Germany/Spain
Romania
Israel/Finland (I dunno why people would like Finland in their groups. I don't. )
Macedonia
Montenegro
Azerbaijan

North Korea could, they probably could too if things went their way, it is way more open than UEFA.

It depends on the situation. Australia moved from Oceania to Asia because it was very difficult for them to win the Play Off against 5th place in South America.

Re: EURO 2012 - Pots, Draw on February 7th

Croatia
Czech Republic
AUSTRIA
Macedonia
Liechtenstein
San Marino

nightmare scenario:
Spain
Serbia/Turkey
AUSTRIA
Wales/Belgium
Montenegro/Kazakhstan
Azerbaijan

of course assuming that we will actually stay in pot 3 - we are doomed if slovenia kick russia in the playoffs.

I wouldn't mind that group at all!!! :D I believe that you will stay in the 3rd pot, regardless of the outcome between Slovenia and Russia. ;)

It's obvious that you don't like ex Yu countries! Or I am wrong?
And to apologize, you like one that actually is not a country! ;)

And, which country released England from Euro 08 in qualification? Hm.....

 That would be a hard group without a doubt. And I hope we won't be in such group, cause ex-yu teams aren't our specialty (in fact we don't have any specialty in football, well maybe Malta and Estonia   ).

Re: EURO 2012 - Pots, Draw on February 7th

yeah alexander
It will be quite interesting if it comes true, because basically all the teams, apart from Malta and perhaps Montenegro, can qualify. :) and ,ahm, you know, it's a matter of national pride etc :)
