Before I say anything else I'll have you know Loreen wasn't even in my top 5 so I say this because I'm sick of hearing it every year, not cause I am some sort of fanboy.

Anyway, I wish people could stop this. Trying to claim that she's not worthy or this being "not ok" is cringe af, people act like whiny kids. Not having your favorite win or getting annoyed by Sweden frequently being favored by the jury does not make her unworthy. Many try to frame it as a jury problem but I bet you half of the people complaining wouldn't be mad if the roles were reversed and Finland won with jury votes.

Finland was 4th with the juries. How can you claim they got "screwed over by juries"? Loreen was 2nd with the public vote and yet it's somehow unworthy? Give me a break. I would understand your frustration if Loreen was very unpopular with the public but won the jury vote, but this was absolutely not the case. At the end of the day, the jury system is what Eurovision has always used and it's part of the core concept. The victory is deserved cause Loreen did well in both parts of the voting, saying it's not is just nonsense.

That being said, I do think 50% of the votes belonging to the jury is too much and I wish they would change it to 1/3 instead. And I actually did prefer Cha Cha Cha over Tattoo, but my main favorites were Austria and Australia!

The fact that jury votes are presented first and for a much longer period of time says it all. Jury votes are presented as more important and televoting as something completely secondary. The whole voting system should be changed. I am for 100% televoting.

It’s like it is pretty much up to juries and “oh, ok, let’s see what the actual wievers think too, if we really have to”.

And also, most of the juries consist of various random people from respective media. Radio hosts, ex talent show participants, washed-up songwriters etc. Yeah, really important opinions.

Juries HAVE to go even if it means we have lots and lots of neighbour voting then. Countries without neighbours have to be better then!

Juries have been proven wrong on so many levels the past years.

a) Some countries are often favoured by juries! Sweden, Malta and also Australia! I was happy for Australia tonight (I voted for them myself!) and they deserved it but in the past they have been overrated and this time, the fear of SBS leaving Eurovision and not knowing about their fate generated some extra points. Like I said, just a fact, not that I was unhappy about hehe

b) some countries are always underrated. Norway has been tanked by the juries for the 4th time in a row, also Moldova 2022, Croatia 2023 etc. Why aren’t juries allowed to vote for fun songs? Ridiculous. They don’t even vote for sophisticated or artsy songs either, otherwise they would have rewarded Serbia more!

c) they should prevent bloc voting but the only ones voting massively for their neighbours were the juries… again (we had that in the past years)

d) they just vote mostly accordingly to the odds… France and Spain extreme fan flops in the televote… but high in the odds. Norway the only exception. For 4 years in a row now. Even 5 I think, didn’t they tank Rybak 2018 as well or was it the public?

The place doesn't matter. The gap in points is all. Sweden was massively favored by juries with hundreds of points more than the second place making televoting practically invalid.

What do you mean invalid? The televotes changed the ranking order of multiple countries, just look at Norway, it has a big impact. If Sweden got 0 by the tele votes then Finland would have won. It sounds to me like the issue here is just with you not accepting jury votes as a valid score. You could say the same about the opposite. I didn't see anyone call the jury votes "invalid" when public vote made Måneskin win in 2021.

I still remember Norway's and Sweden's plot from 2001 to officially file request for deducting points from Croatia on technical irregularity, so that Croatia can't win.

You really are "wtf" about the only two classic ballads of the year? You know, not all the viewers and jurors of Eurovision are uptempo lovers. Sometimes you need some songs like Estonia and Italy too, because an all ballady Eurovision may be boring, but an all uptempo will be too. I'm honestly not surprised they did well, expecially with the Juries, because they stood out in a mix of "in your face" performances.
