Isn‘t it a good german tradition in NF to magically let a „wildcard“ appear out of nothing (S!!!!!!!!!!!STER) who eventually wins? NDR can prove his/her intelligence now to apply this system on Eskimo Callboys. I´m not a huge fan of them (I like "Pump It", though) - but our broadcaster needs to finally understand THAT WE ARE PISSED OFF.
They can´t keep on giving us inoffensive, radio-friendly and mediocre songs whilst most of us want something different. We´ve been very vocal about it for years! - They deserve all the shitstorm they´re getting at the moment!

They obviously chose the worst possible song in German in order to NOT send a song in German but be able to say that there was a possibility.

Unfortunately a similar approach by SVT in the Swedish selection, it's disgusting, tax-funded self-hatred basically.

French NF being diverse?!?! It's 95% what we call "variété française" which is played on mainstream FM radio. And when did France send something daring at esc? It's exactly what you described, a bunch of former the voice contestants.

I don't say that the German NF is good but the praise for EC (which was sure NOT to be in the line-up) led to something off towards the contestants. Just as if I were pissed year after year because the dø or Yseult are not competing for France.

People on here liked Ben Dolic's sing, which was the exact same quality than half of the German songs competing this year.

I actually agree with what you said - and I was one of those who liked Ben Dolic, but he wouldn't have done well at ESC since live he wasn't good at all.

I am waiting until my bad mood has calmed down. There are two entries that I sort of could live with (Alive and Swear to God), maybe they will grow on me (hopefully). But it doesn't change the fact that NDR shouldn't be given the responsibility for ESC anymore. Just step back, please! I mean so many ESC-Fans wanting and sort of expecting EC to be a part and totally neglecting it. Sorry, can't be serious!

Would somebody please start a petition to the EBU to decline the right to a direct qualification for the final to a big five member if they end at the bottom of the table in more than, let's say two years in a row. That would mean surely the UK and Germany had to qualify in the semis first like all the other participating countries. Shame on you NDR.

I found Hallo Velt interesting. A nice proposal in german.
Why not.
The other ones seemed a bit all the same, maybe Anxiety somehow more groovy. But I have to listen them more.

It´s really fitting - this will be our combined score (jury and televoting) in May ... if we´re lucky.

Getting a combined 12 points with the current selection of songs is way too ambitious for the German delegation. At this point, they are heading a "double-zero" fate ala UK 2021.

There are no bad songs, but they are too basic and beige. I don't think I care who wins at this point. It's going to end up with the likes of North Macedonia, Moldova and Bulgaria. Languishing at the bottom.

Somehow, the rap part in "Rockstars" reminds me of Eminem's "Stan"?
