The American Song Contest, NBC’s upcoming adaptation of the Eurovision Song Contest format for the USA and its territories, has unveiled its roster of participating artists.

56 acts will take part in the competition, representing the 50 states of the United States of America, as well as representatives of American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands and Washington DC.

Beginning on 21st March 2022, Atlantic Records – the official partner of the competition – will release the songs competing in this year’s American Song Contest in batches. The competition kicks off on this day with the first show, with Kelly Clarkson and Snoop Dogg taking up hosting duties.

Notable artists in the competition include Connecticut’s Michael Bolton and Ohio’s Macy Gray who have had extensive international singing careers, and Maryland’s Sisqó, whose track “The Thong Song” was a worldwide hit in 2000.

The line-up also features The Voice winner Jordan Smith (Kentucky), successful folk and country singer Jewel (Alaska), big beat pioneers The Crystal Method (Nevada) and soul singer Allen Stone (Washington state).
