As we head into the final weeks of the Eurovision Pre-Parties and prep work before Liverpool, we were able to sit down with Andrew Lambrou in his Sydney home. Our conversation together covered a variety of topics and we hope will allow you to understand him on a much deeper level.

During the interview Andrew revealed a number of fantastic tidbits that included his love of Marvel comics and movies, particularly of Thor’s hammer Mjölnir, Stormbreaker, and Thanos’ infinity gauntlet. He also disclosed his background and passion for the sport of basketball, specifically the Milwaukee Bucks NBA team due to his favorite Greek-Nigerian player Giannis Antetokounmpo being part of the team.

Andrew also disclosed his desire to work alongside and not against fellow Eurovision competitors Voyager in a music setting in the future, especially as a fellow metal music aficionado. And how did he learn CyBC wanted to work with him for Eurovision 2023? Over a simple email.

Who is Andrew Lambrou?

Andrew’s musical accomplishments started at just 5 year’s old when he won a music competition with his cover of Doe A Deer from the Sound of Music, and went on to perform a number of covers on YouTube and participation on the X Factor Australia in 2015. After his time on the show he transitioned to songwriting and was then signed by City Pop Records. After his first three singles he elected to compete in Australia Decides in 2021 finishing in 7th place, and then was signed with Panik Records in 2022 and internally selected by CyBC to represent Cyprus in the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest.
