Re: UNITED KINGDOM 2017
The Spice Girls will never do eurovision, and that song is just a leaked demo.
The UK needs to keep doing what it's been doing recently but do it better: a national final, with up-and-coming and lesser-known artists.
Improvements to the national selection process would be 8-10 songs instead of 6 and the inclusion of an International/European jury.
The UK is starting to approach Eurovision in the right way for the modern era. If it keeps going ahead with a proper national final, encouraging modern entries and providing an opportunity for talented but underheard musicians, it will start to pay off. Molly and Joe and Jake didn't fair that well, and in my opinion much worse than they deserved, but they were important steps in the right direction and part of the UK succeeding again is to year-on-year (re)build its reputation.
It's not hard: a good song, from a legitimate artist with a decent live stage production. Not cheap, not dated and light on the cheese.
I'm looking forward to the national final... onwards and upwards!
