Italy and Sweden are called "overrated" much more often than Ukraine. I haven't seen people hating on Ukraine as often as the other two... possibly because of the war?
Even in 2022, even people who didn't agree with Ukraine winning still admit that the song is good.
But I really don't get why they keep saying "Italy has sent ballad every year, except MAYBE in 2021".... What? Since 2011, we have sent ballads only FOUR times (2013, 2020, 2022, and 2023), all the other years we have tried pretty much all different music genres.

This is the only song that I was initially indifferent to that has grown on me. I still don’t love it, but from what was probably

The only thing I really would change is how the musical hook sounds. It’s so tinny and fuzzy to my ears and yet the music in the rest of the song is crisp and clear to me. It’s strange and off putting.
Maybe it’s my ears? I don’t know but it’s my real bugbear with the song.

This year is so uncertain. Something similar to 2019 and 2016 where the winners of jury and public voting, North Macedonia-Norway and Australia-Russia, didn't win the whole contest. We might have some surprises ( not saying Italy is amongst them). But I prefer years like this just to make it more thrilling. Last two years were so predictable.

At the end she said that the Swedish TV has sent to her some phrases in Swedish to learn. The cohost of this program is from Sweden and translated the phrases Angelina has pronaunced. Seems something relative to Loreen's second win and a deejay.

Tough and cool female acts were so far quite unsuccesful and yet usually quite often overrated. Some of them delivered most shocking NQ in the past. Italy this year also comes across as too cool for the party.

Italy 2014 got a top 10 result.
The odds placed Nina Zilli 4th.
I would not consider it as a failure.
Dear Ezio you considered only the so-called cool songs that probably failed but not the ones that had success, I can mention many of them.
Personally I would not compare Angelina with Ronela Hajati or with Jana Burceska and some others.
I don't know how it will go but when Italy has sent something very different and daring the results have been excellent
Italy 2011 jazz, Italy 2019 urban, Italy 2021 glam rock.
It's an urban ethno Latin pop, very different from what we have heard until now. The most important thing you have underestimated mentioning all the cool songs is that most of them were sung in English, we sing in italian, a language very appealing to most of europeans for its musicality.
There are two urban ethnic pop songs this year Greece and Italy but there is a huge difference between the compositions. Very predictable the first, surprisingly articulated and constantly changing the second.
I would put Greece 2024 in that list of yours.
90% of their Flops were totally predictable and not shocking.
