2 ballads in a row. Might be time to go back to something upbeat in 2026.
Or something completely different, like from the French rap/urban music scene?

If this ballad does well don't expect France to change, though it seems what they are really doing is selecting household names in France to try and drive engagement and viewership. Eurovision is really struggling in France.

I don't know what to expect for 2026. The french delegation was convinced to be a contender for the victory with Louane and they look disappointed during the voting so maybe they will lose their ambition for the victory.

I hope I wrong and they will continue their effort of recent years to convince established artists

What about Kendji Girac?? He won (like Slimane) the French version of The Voice and is still very successful. Listened to a few of his songs and liked them a lot. This was my favourite:

Yes I always thought about him but I think he’s to successful and well-known outside Eurovision

Same could be said about Slimane too I guess. But it doesn´t matter, he needs to be interested.

Still think though that Louanes 7th place is good enough to not disencourage "big" stars.

With him there´s also a good chance to get something different than a ballad.

I know the name Indila could be boring and annoying for some and that we hear this rumor every year but this time, it has been confirmed 2 weeks ago by "Le Parisien" that she'll do her comeback this year after 11 years of absence with a fresh new album. The album is ready since December but she hasn't released it yet and she has been spotted recently filming music video clip in Paris. Eurovision would be a great occasion for her to comeback and she's also apparently preparing a tour. I thought she had stopped music at some point.

So maybe there's a little chance finally ? Only point i don't know : Is she easy to manage as an artist ? I don't think Indila plans to do Eurovision at the moment but maybe Alexandra could try to convince her and if she has a great song in her new album, similar to let's say "Parle à ta tête", then it would be really exciting.

France will bring something polish, a little bit more unique, vocally perfect and for sure I will vote for them again.

To the contrary! I‘d love to see her on the ESC stage. She‘s amazing!

me too me too ahah. I just said that her name could be boring and annoying for some because it's a fantasme for many fans and a name that comes every year and so it has become less and less credible over the years to see her name appear. But for next years, there are at least conditions are met to see her at Eurovision. It's only up to the french delegation to contact her and try to negotiate with her the way they did with Louane. It's unlikely but the chances are a bit higher than previous years. She also needs to have something quality and very strong in store (i have no doubt about that).

I think he has some mental / physical health problem so his career has been on a decline I don't think he is ready for ESC atm.

I would love to see another NF, they had high quality acts competing the years Madame Monsieur and Bilan competeted (unfortunately in the latter case the outcome was too influenced by fanvote).

His latest album was on #3 in the French charts, doesn´t look like a decline to me.

But if that´s true I wish him all the best.

Maybe not for 2026 already but I'd like to see Nour represent France someday, she's very talented and her first EP was pretty darn good

I'm surprised not more are seeing France as obviously on the way towards a near-future win. If they do, i hope it's with something remotely fun and not another damn Maman / Voila / Voyage, these songs bore the HELL out of me and they would be a disaster for the general reputation of the contest if they won.

I think they can surprise with something more modern and unexpected and do well if they place their cards right, but they seem a bit overly stuck on a certain type of entry now just because it always does well, but they won't win the televote with it.

My two cents : Ascendant Vierge would be awesome. It'a a duet made of a singer heavily influenced by vintage french 80's music (in the same style than Juliette Armanet for example) and a beatmaker/producer who is really famous in the french gabber/hardcore scene, and their style is the perfect mix of both styles. Something that is somewhat close to some traditional sound but with a modern twist.

Another artist i'd be keen to see on the ESC stage, Yamê, which is a rapper but his style is really distinct, a track like Bécane, i do think it would look awesome.

Let's have a French song that is not a ballad and that isn't performed by somebody who looks as if he/she is about to break down and cry any moment.

I know it may mean that France won't be in the top 10 next year. So be it.
