Once again, our “Expert” Panel is back for another year, as 15 members of the ESC United team have sat down to review the hopefuls that were set to represent their nations at Eurovision 2020 in Rotterdam!

As a quick reminder, the rules of our “Expert” Panel are simple; our team provide a score for each entry between 1 and 10, with .5 scores also possible – 1 being terrible and 10 being a perfect score and an amazing entry. Each entry will also have a video, where Matt will discuss the entry with three members of the panel and provide their rationales for their points for the song.

Time to see which song is next in our assessments…

The next country we are focusing on is Cyprus, who brought us some deep house in 2020 in the shape of Sandro’s “Running”, an entry hoping to continue the strong run of Cyprus in the contest and once again making the Mediterranean island one of the providers of a dancefloor favourite for Eurovision.

In this video, Matt discusses the Cypriot entry with Holly, Connor and Gabe. #YOU can find out how they felt in the video below;

With four of our team passing judgement above, it’s now time to see how the scores fell for Cyprus across our panel;

  • Boris 4
  • Connor 8.5
  • David 7.5
  • Fernando 5
  • Gabe 9
  • Holly 8.5
  • James 8
  • Matt 8
  • Melanie 7
  • Robert 5
  • Roy 7.5
  • Sanio 5
  • Sean 7.5
  • Sebastian 5
  • Stefan 9

We also asked our forum readers and members to share their votes on the song, with the Forum score being attributed as just 4.68 for Cyprus’ entry!

But what does this mean for our ranking? Cyprus receives an average of 6.82 – which currently puts them second!

  1. 🇲🇹 Malta – 7.76
  2. Cyprus – 6.82
  3. 🇦🇱 Albania – 6.42
  4. 🇬🇷 Greece – 6.40
  5. 🇸🇮 Slovenia – 6.01
  6. 🇱🇻 Latvia – 5.80

Will Malta stay top, or will there be another new leader to come? Next up, it’s the planned host nation Netherlands – so make sure to subscribe and add notifications for our YouTube channel to not miss a thing!
