Latest news coming to us from Kosovo: the Eurovision community has been buzzing with talks of RTK possibly submitting their Eurovision 2025 application, and plan on doing it this June.

According to RTKLive, the Chairman of RTK’s Board has announced that the broadcaster will submit an application to participate in Eurovision 2025 to the European Broadcasting Union.

At the recent event of the premiere of a documentary “Burnt to Flourish”, which premiered at ABC Cinema, is intended to commemorate the event of how the first edition of the festival began. Besnik Boletini, Chairman of the RTK Board has said: “The realization of this documentary is very important because it is the first festival organized by RTK and is a testimony that will remain for years to come. For us, it is important to maintain and enhance the quality, we are working on it and in June we will apply to the EBU to participate in Eurovision and we hope to receive a positive response.”

The significance of the initial festival and its first three editions is in establishing a high standard in line with Eurovision Song Contest criteria, thus paving the way for the “Fest 2”.

As of right now, it remains unclear whether RTK is seeking EBU membership or what the ultimate goal may be. Perhaps it is just an invitation to the contest, but as we gear up for another Eurovision season, and wait for more news, it is still up in the air as far as official decisions go.
